  1. LORD JESUS THERE’S A FIRE!

The presets sound spectacular. And what excited me even more is that a lot of these are not sounds I would think of dialing in with an analog synth, which is nice, since I want to make THOSE sounds myself.

So to recap: 12 voices, digital effects, tablet/computer control over wifi, voice morphing via tablet touchscreen, amazing presets, great interface, AUGMENTED REALITY, $1000.

Behringer didn’t augment reality, they just broke it.

    1. this thing sucks, it doesn’t cost enough – how do I know I am getting a high end synth if it doesn’t cost @ least $3000??????

      1. Moog and DSI assemble their instruments in the USA and pay their employees a living wage. Behringer is controlled by a holding company in the Philippines (presumably for tax reasons) and manufactures its products in a massive Chinese factory to take advantage of cheap labor.

So, yeah. Moog costs more. At least it’s an employee-owned company that provides good jobs for 60+ people in Asheville.

    1. Considering the Deepmind also. But I have a Prophet 08 …and I’am keeping it anyways. Time has showed me painfully that I should hang on to the instruments I own and love.

  2. they should sell a desktop version – it sounds great but I would rather not pay the extra $ to take up extra real estate – just give me the module for a few hundred less, since I don’t really have the space for a full keyboard anywhere…

  3. Almost can’t afford not to get this synth when it comes out. It sounds gorgeous, looks classy, and seems like it will be creatively useful for years.

  4. Is that a Leap Motion controller on the desk? If there was direct support for that, it’d be a cool way to get D-beam like gestural control.

  5. Great… Instant GAS.

I didn’t even care about 12 voices or this synth at all until hearing these sounds. Now, I can see myself saving money for months for this thing.
    Damn you Uli Behringer…!

  6. To my ears all of the presets have the same character because basically there are only 2 (or 3?) waveforms available from the oscillators. The rest of the tone shaping and magic comes from the filter, effects and modulation matrix.

It would be fantastic if there were more oscillator waves available and user waves as well.

Eg. Nord – Wave, Access Virus series, Korg – MS2000 …..

    1. You may be in the minority on that.

The whole reason that people are excited about the DeepMind 12 is that Behringer is building an inexpensive but solidly spec’d analog synth – instead of building an expensive synth with more capabilities or a synth that’s digital.

  7. It was a wise decision to include QUALITY effects in this synth. Roland is so cheap in this aspect – something I can’t understand, as certainly good reverbs/delays don’t eat much CPU nowadays, yet they still save on them.

  8. I think this would have to be the poly synth of the year!!
Let’s look at the sound and price “, absolutely amazing !
Does anyone know how many patches there are

  9. I’m convinced on the sound. Now my only reservation is the build quality. The Minilogue has proven that a budget product doesn’t necessarily have to skimp in this department, but the DM12 looks decidedly less rugged. Mind you, I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet, so hopefully I’m wrong.

  10. as soon as behringer announced they were gonna build a synth, i somehow knew it was gonna be something very special.
blown away more and more after each video comes out.
    and i just bought a jx8p too!
