Sonic Geometry Intros OTO Wireless MIDI Controllers

Sonic Geometry has launched a Kickstarter project to fund production of the OTO wireless MIDI controllers.

The name ‘OTO’ comes from the Japanese oto-no-katachi, which translates roughly in English to ‘shape of sound’, which reflects the designer’s concept of the controller as a tactile controller for sound manipulation.

Each OTO controller houses an IMU that communicates with a host computer via Bluetooth. The host computer translates the raw physical data into MIDI signals that can be used to control notes, CC data, etc.

The OTO is available to project backers starting at US $79 for two.
