808 Movie Gets Exclusive Apple Release

808 – the documentary about the Roland TR-808 and its influence on music – will be available as an Apple Music exclusive starting Dec 9th, 2016.

The movie tells the story of how the 808 drum machine became one of the most iconic musical instruments of the past 40 years, despite only being in production from 1980 through 1983.

808 The Movie had its world premiere Friday, March 13th, 2015 at SXSW. The film looks at the iconic records, artists and producers influenced by the 808’s unique sound.

      Probably to use Guetta’s fanbase to feed the 808 hype/myth.

    1. You need an Apple Music streaming subscription to watch the movie. I’m guessing it isn’t for sale.

      I refuse to subscribe to streaming services. The only people that make money out of this are the streaming companies. The musicians are totally fleeced by big business.
