ClubROOM Lets You Create Projection-Mapped Animations On An iPad

ClubROOM is an application that lets you create 3D projection-mapped light shows on your iPad.

Here’s an intro to how to set up and use the app:

Features:

  • Each set of animations is stored in a “mapping”
  • Create endless “mappings” and manage them by copying, renaming or deleting them
  • Add as many “grids” to your “mappings” as you would like
  • Use the Editor to reposition, zoom, pinch and move every single “grid” where you want it to be
  • Also alter the shape of your “grids” precisely, by moving the edges with the help of our new positioning interface in addition to your fingers
  • Pick one out of numerous effects to be displayed on the created “grids”
  • Control the range of color, intensity and white balance with three simple sliders
  • ClubROOM analyzes the noise level of your surroundings and adjusts to make sure effects are only being triggered when the beat matches

Pricing and Availability

ClubROOM is available for US $9.99 in the App Store. If you’ve used ClubRoom, leave a comment and let us know what you think of it!

    1. Hello,

We’re sorry to hear you’re having troubles with our ClubROOM App. Please head over to Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics & Usage on your iPad and select “Automatically Send”. Also, make sure “Share With App Developers” is turned on. That way we’ll receive detailed information on future ClubROOM crashes which will allow us to work on a fix as soon as possible.
We are always working on improving and your input is much appreciated. Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you need further assistance!

      Best regards, ClubROOM Team

  1. How do you connect to projector? Do you just need the lightning to HDMI adapter, a HDMI cable and of course a projector with HDMI input and away you go? Might have to buy a cheap, half decent projector if that’s the case.

    1. Hi Darren,

Yes, that’s all you need to get going with ClubROOM. Another possibility is to connect wirelessly via Airplay, but then you need an Apple TV instead of the lightning to HDMI adapter. Please email [email protected] in case you have further questions!

  2. Looks like a cool app. I picked up a cheap 1500 lumen projector from Amazon for Halloween to add video projection to my haunted house, might be perfect for for projection-mapping.

To answer some of the previous replies, connecting a projector to an iThing is pretty easy using the lightning–>HDMI connector. If you don’t like the idea of being wired between your iThing and your projector, there are numerous options for dongles and devices (like AppleTV, ChromeCast, etc), and some projectors also support AirPlay directly. And, since we’re finally living in the future, projectors no longer cost $10K, unless you’re intending on projecting on to a large building, then you’ll need to get some serious hardware like what the pros use. (Consumer grade projector bulbs are still expensive, but not $500. That’s why I got an LED projector. LEDs are cheap and last forever!)

I downloaded a couple of free alternatives to ClubROOM in the App Store and once I get a better handle on projection-mapping, will give ClubROOM a serious look. Would be cool if they offered a limited free “trial version” (maybe with watermark or something) so people can get their feet wet before purchasing.
