Lakeshore Records has announced a deluxe vinyl edition of Junkie XL‘s new soundtrack for Distance Between Dreams.
The film documents one of the most historic surf seasons on record, through the lens of surfer Ian Walsh, pairing vivid cinematography with a soundtrack by Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL.
Holkenborg wanted to give viewers the experience of being in the ocean with the select handful of surfers that ride the biggest waves in the world. The score features the sounds of analog synths from Holkenborg’s massive collection.
The limited edition release will be out May 5th on Lakeshore Records.
Apparently if you put the vinyl close to your ear, you can hear the sound of the waves.
