The latest episode of Telekom Electronic Beats takes a look at the Sonic Robots of inventor Moritz Simon Geist.

Geist’s best know  project is probably the MR-808 – a giant electro-acoustic version of the classic Roland TR-808:

“Sonicrobots is dedicated to robotic music instruments, autonomous tonal music machines, musical hacks and circuit bending,” notes Geist. “Music hacking is our form of anti-passiveness, through which we think the individual can have an impact on his or her environment, status and state of mind.”
