  • Powerful modulation features (more below)

Modulation

  • Each synth has a dedicated mod assign matrix with 6 slots
  • 20 mod targets, including pitch, timbre, filters and more
  • Each target can be modulated by a continuous signal, as well as a control signal
  • 2 LFOs per synth
  • Modulation envelope
  • Poly aftertouch
  • Velocity, Mod Wheel & Key Tracking

Morphing

  • 4 morph groups with onscreen control pad
  • Automorphing: simply draw a figure on the pad and KASPAR automatically tracks it
  • Modulate the morph using the x- and y-controls
  • 6 automorph trigger modes
  • 4 automorph looping modes
  • Adjustable, beat-syncable pathread & modulation speeds

Layering

  • Combine the 8 KASPAR synth engines in infinite ways
  • Each synth has dedicated volume and panning, as well as FX1 & FX2 send controls
  • Conveniently map the synths to regions of the keyboard: great for ‘splitting’ or ‘layering’ multiple synth patches

  1. “Morphology 101”

We have come to expect that Morphing means something more than crossfading. True morphing with synthesizers involves interpolating parameter values from one preset to another (with some blending of oscillator waveshapes if needed).

Kaspar should use “Crossfadeology 101” as their tagline.

Still, looks like a nice feature set. Looks like it kind of blends features from animoog with features from layr. Yonac makes interesting stuff.

  2. BE CAREFUL!
The compatibility statement on the Ap Store simply says “iPad”. This is entirely deceptive. This program is DEFINITELY NOT compatible with all iPads. It generates such a heavy CPU load that even simple patches will overload the CPU on most iPad models and the synthesizer glitches out terribly. The program is actually useless unless you have something like an iPad Pro.

And like all Aps at Apple’s Ap store, once you buy it, you’re done. There is no way to get your money back.

  3. running it on an iPad Air. Works just fine! See also Yonak’s s statement “recommended for iPad Air, …” Audio Generation set to “best”, Buffer Size 256

  4. The demo seems weak.

From the app description, I was expecting some out-of-this-world sounds, instead the demo sound is like a failing Harpsichord/organ with minimal modulation.

Still may buy it, if it can run on an iPad air. Good to know I can get a refund if it doesn’t work well. (Thanks synthhead!)

  5. recently picked up beatmaker 3, soundscaper, and now this synth after promising myself i wouldn’t again fall victim to app gear excess.
please, could anyone tell me what they use for reliable, easy-peasy midi hardware interfacing with ipad?
Studiomux and network session stuff is frustrating, confusing, & a mojo killer each and every time for me.
i need plug and play midi to my computer based daw without added drama, just a simply 1 in/1 out solution

  6. I got it last night and enjoyed messing with some of the patches.

Unless I am missing something, it is missing a few key features like arp latch and mono note priority (low, high, last) to really take advantage of the 8 voices. We also need to be able to save single synth voices, at least.

I am reminded of my Akai Miniak. If Yonac were to implement a few of the ideas from that synth (and its predecessor the Alessis Micron), it could become even better.

  7. I tried it on ipad pro IOS 9.3 and it does work very well.
YONAC should allow the IOS 9 users to use the app (minimum IOS requirement is IOS 10).
Lot of people won’t update to the future IOS versions because the 32 bits apps culling.
I also tried the app on the new ipad 2017 .

There is currently an issue with the help option (in the settings menu): if you hit “help” while offline the app crashes and all your tweaks disappear.
YONAC should integrate the help documentation in the app.
