Novation Circuit Mono Station Review – “Larger Than The Sum Of Its Parts”

This video, via loopop, is review and hands-on demo of the Novation Circuit Mono Station.

The Novation Circuit Mono Station combines the velocity-sensitive RGB pads and sequencing workflow of their Circuit, with a paraphonic analog synthesizer design that originated with the Bass Station II.

“I was a bit doubtful about the Circuit/Bass Station mashup, but after spending some time with it, I was blown away,” notes loopop. “Beyond it sounding great, I’ve never seen so much sequencing power – 50+ mod tracks, up to 256 sequence steps, parameter locks, beautiful sounding paraphonic capabilities and all in such a clear UI.”

    1. “50+ mod tracks, up to 256 sequence steps, parameter locks, beautiful sounding paraphonic capabilities and all in such a clear UI.”

Yep definitely a useless toy. Is it the coloured pads that coloured your perception of it? lulz

  1. … good blend of classic subtractive monosynth combined with new ways of controlling a synth and very flexible routing (+CV).

    I Like it a lot!

    1. That’s subjective.
If you have one-hand I have one can we be isolated together… Or can we start talking to people about what we found and how it makes us creative and start conversation. A farther on a mono circut and son on circut jamming, a shared experience brings them closer.

      1. @Dave that’s just wishful thinking.

Take a look at vast amounts of YouTube synth vids by “bedroom” musicians :
        all by themselves.

        Sad.

        1. That’s just stupid. Just because you didn’t seem anyone else in videos. Doesn’t mean there isolated or sad.
If this is a cry for help. You not alone dude, there people you can talk to. Lifeline etc…

  2. I love the toy argument. You know, women call cars ‘toys’ as well, when they are handled by strong confident men who know how to wield its powers. So again ladies, it’s not a toy.

  3. completely unuseable without a display imo. electribe 2 and electribe 2s are way more better. why? both have decent screens.

    1. Yup, obviously no one is using them to record demos you can watch and listen to online. And no one is saying things like “such a clear UI.” That’s because they’re completely unusable.

    2. “completely unuseable without a display imo. electribe 2 and electribe 2s are way more better. ”

Yeah, if Novation added a screen to the Circuit, it could be a hot seller like those Electribes. lol
