Propellerhead 10 Now Available

Propellerhead Software has announced that Reason 10 is now available.

Reason 10 features two new synthesizers, Europa Shapeshifting Synthesizer and Grain Sample Manipulator:

  • Europa is a dynamically generated wavetable synthesizer that offers flexibility and power. Apply a wide range of modulation to the waveform itself, add advanced spectral filtering and harmonics processing – even draw custom waveforms.
  • Grain opens up the world of granular synthesis for Reason users. Drop any sample into Grain and explore endless sonic variations, using an extensive collection of algorithms, ultra-flexible modulation, routing and effects.

Reason 10 also includes three new sampled instrument collections created in collaboration with Soundiron:

  • Klang Tuned Percussion includes 10 high-quality sampled melodic percussion instruments that are perfect for modern pop and electronica.
  • Pangea World Instruments includes 11 world instruments that add a unique flavor to any genre of music.
  • Humana Vocal Ensemble is a collection of choirs and solo vocals, perfect for adding a human touch to film scores, soundtracks and more.

Reason 10 also includes Propellerhead’s Radical Piano instrument and Synchronous Effect Modulator – previously available as Rack Extensions via the Propellerhead Shop.

  • Radical Piano is an authentic, flexible and bendable piano instrument that provides sounds for every situation and every song.
  • Synchronous Effect Modulator lets you bring your music to life with quick sidechain effects – and even draw your own LFO curves to control filter, delay, reverb, distortion and level.

Reason 10 also features 3 GB+ of new sample content in Reason Drum Supply and Reason Loop Supply.

  1. one thing i feel sad about is they killed off rebirth. I understand not wanting to support but what about all those files for those out there that still using it

    1. Pretty sure that was because of Roland threats. I mean, they even ported it to iPad ~20 years after the launch so it seems to me they were still on board.

  2. Upgraded this morning. Definitely worth the upgrade from my previous version. One spec I read said OS Sierra but the actual download site said 10.7 or higher. Still running 10.8.5 so went for it. I like the granular synth very much. Made about 40 presets already. Haven’t gone much deeper yet but happy with it so far.

I still use Rebirth (and a bunch of older VSTs) on my legacy machine and also have the IOS version as well. And as for old programs, been getting back into using XPhraze recently, awesome VST.

  3. Been waiting to hear someone say the upgrade is worth it. I already owned Synchronous and Radical Piano from one of those bundle packs so the update didnt seem that enticing but that Grain looks pretty awesome. With all the modulation options on the back of the rack and automation options in the arrangement view, you could get some pretty crazy results. I’m assuming.

  4. I realy think Reason has run out of steam, it’s gone about as far as it can go with the rack design, it never realy went full DAW features and lost a lot of the simple closed benefits, it’s betwix and between. The Props are great developers, I would love to see the. Do some other stuff, release the instrument rack as a VST or do something totally new…

    1. Hm. Just a few months back they added VST capabilities to a program that never intended to add VST’s. They have a rack for almost everything you can imagine in their store, sort of like native instruments who I guess also ran out of steam with the MK35 Maschine.
Not a fully featured DAW with their awesome mixer, great arrangement view and Blocks for ideas on the fly. Super easy to use automation and syncs with almost every piece of gear ive tried and ive tried a ton. Even controllers are easy to set up with their “right-click” Midi Learn feature that saves with the project file.

Sounds like a comment from a dude who used reason 4 and never went back or even looked at a screenshot. Ableton has run out of steam a while ago, just everyone else is developing that software for them but the only thing they added new was being able to use 2 screens to view sessions and arrangements. BitWig did laps around that program.
Sorry for the rant, just some comments come out of nowhere, like a guy in a heated house looking out the window saying it looks cold. Go outside and find out.

  5. I love Reason…but i’ve lost the ability to just fire it up and go…it would take alot of catching up….i’ve always found it to be tricky..always loved the happy accidents i got from this program tho!!

patiently waiting for Ableton Live 9.8.7.6.5.45.3.2.2.4

  6. Updated and its awesome. Grain is what I’ve been looking for, granular synthesis with needing a Master’s Degree in soft synthesis. To late to back out of the Kickstarter Granular synthesizer so…dammit.
