New Node Style Step Sequencer For iOS, Senode

Developer Sebastian Arnold has introduced Senode, a node style sequencer and composition app for iPad.

Node extends the concept of linear step sequencers to a freely connectable graph, with an unlimited number of instruments traveling along the edges.

The core of Senode is a graph of Nodes connected by Edges. Each Node triggers a sound when activated, while Edges determine the direction of travel.

Instruments are controlled by Emitters which send their Tokens onto the graph. To make it more interesting, you can add random directions or emit multiple Tokens at different time positions.

Integrated Synthesizer & MIDI Sequencing

Each Emitter offers a basic subtractive synth, with main OSC (sine, saw, square), sub OSC (sine), 1-pole lowpass filter, stereo reverb and ADSR envelope.

But you can also used it to sequence any MIDI-capable apps. If you connect a MIDI interface, you can even control your hardware synths with the app.

  1. So easy, so good! I like this program a lot and I´m very curious how it will be further developed (e.g. probability options, realtime-access, external trigger-possibilities).
