Novation Intros Launchpad Arcade, Bringing Loop-Based Remixing To Your Web Browser

Novation has introduced Launchpad Arcade – a free music app, based around loop-based remixing.

Launchpad Arcade runs in your web browser (Google Chrome recommended), and lets you play loops and sounds using a clip grid. A browser at the top right of the screen lets you select between sessions.

You can launch loops and one-shot samples with your mouse, or try finger drumming using your keyboard. And, if you have Launchpad hardware, you can connect it to your computer and use it to control the app.

In addition to being a fun free tool, you can use it to download many of the available sessions for use in Ableton Live

    1. Focus on the negative space of the grid for 60 seconds and then look at a blank wall and you’ll see the jail cell your mind has made for you.

  1. Works in FF as well (using Linux here).

The provided Live projects are a nice sample/loop source for other groove boxes (Circuit etc.) as well.
