This video, via loopop, offers a review and hands-on demo of the new Elektron Digitone synthesizer, introduced at the 2018 NAMM Show.
The Digitone combines a modernized FM implementation with a classic subtractive synthesis signal flow. The Digitone’s sequencer offers four tracks for the internal sounds and four dedicated MIDI tracks for controlling external gear. You can use the sequencer to quickly add chords or create melodies adhering to a specific scale, Add probability settings to individual notes and create tracks with different lengths.
Pricing and Availability
Digitone is available now for $759 USD/779 EUR/£699 GBP.
This isn’t analog….
Who said it was?
Hope it didn’t take you too long to figure that out.
lol
I think he’s baiting you lads
Yeah, It’s not the Anatone. Geez, people are going nuts for Analog.
It’s FM isn’t it? I do like the quirky Elektron boxes. The rytm is great too!
I LoVe my digitakt! I’ve been having more fun making music with that thing than I’ve had in a long time. May have to check this one out too.
I’d rather get an octatrack tho ….
After watching the video, I think a lot of folks will be using this as a rompler. I’d rather let someone else spend 2 hours getting a sine wave to sound halfway acceptable and pay them a dollar for the patch.
500 presets is pretty nice. How many user presets can you save in addition?
1500
Can’t wait until their in stock!
Could it be anymore complicated? A sound engine and more outputs to be sequenced via an external sequencer would be good. It sounds great. Will electron ever make a simple sound module?
Probably not, but you could buy a simple sound module and use an elektron box to sequence it.
I ignored it like it was meh for a while because I don’t have the cash for it at the moment but after watching videos I’m thinking it might be a really good at being an all in one groove box because it does chords, leads, bass, drums seemingly so well.
I own the Digitakt and the Heat…Both are FANTASTIC! I’m in line for the Digitone no question about it!!!
