The Synthphonia Is The Love Child Of An IKEA Flashlight & A Synthesizer

Xoán-Xil López shared this series of sound tests of the Synthphonia, which is sort of the musical love-child of an IKEA hand-cranked flashlight & a synthesizer.

The Synthphonia is inspired by the Sinfonia, a rectangular shaped Hurdy Gurdy. It’s based on the open hardware synth platform, Axolotl and a hacked Ikea Ljusa flashlight, along with multiple ribbons, pots and a 3 axis accelerometer.
