ROLI Intros ‘Colours Of India’ Sound Library

ROLI has released Colours Of India, a new sound library.

Traditional instruments such as the veena, nadaswaram, bansuri flute, and tabla drums are now available in NOISE as an in-app purchase. Four of the sounds are now also included free in Equator.

The instruments were sampled at A. R. Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory.

“I wanted to share these sounds through ROLI’s sound library because it will inspire new music,” said A.R. Rahman. “I hope this soundpack inspires everyone to make great music and also introduces you to the magic of India.”

  1. If I ever bought a Roli….these are the sounds I would be after, nice pack! Love traditional Indian instruments.

  2. You can use these sounds without a ROLI controller in two ways: you can play them through the free Noise app on iOS (which is also available as AUv3) or you can play them in Equator (which is a very deep MPE softsynth for macOS/Windows in its own right, priced accordingly).

    1. Without learning the instruments or having a good sense of what they are able of, one can never fully utilize the potential of instruments anyways, so learning is always beneficial.
