Pittsburgh Modular shared this hands-on demo of their new Microvolt 3900, introduced at the 2018 NAMM Show.
Here’s what they have to say about the Microvolt 3900:
A modern, semi-modular synthesizer inspired by the instruments designed by our heroes. The Pittsburgh Modular Microvolt 3900 takes a new approach to building a raw, analog monosynth with a host of unconventional and inspirational features. Patch cables optional.
The Microvolt 3900 merges a unique analog synthesis engine with beautiful design and the creative freedom of a modular synthesizer to define the desktop sonic laboratory. The sound of the Microvolt 3900 is a unique blend of the organic and textural with raw, synthetic analog tones creating a new sonic palate perfect for deep experimentation.
Here’s an overview of the Microvolt from PM’s Perry Willig, at the NAMM Show:

Man I thought Boutique knobs were small! lol
Anyone know what a “binary filter” is? I have not come across that term before.
its just pittsburgs term to switch the filter in a self resonating mode, which is hard to control. The filter is always 2-pole low pass.
