Free Roland System-8 Update Adds JX-3P Plug-Out

Roland has released a free update for its System-8 keyboard synthesizer, adding a new ‘Plug-Out’ that recreates the sound of their JX-3P.

The System-8 synth is based on analog circuit modeling technology, so it can load different models and recreate the sound of different synth designs. It can host three synth models, or ‘Plug Out’ synths, at a time.

The System-8 now comes with Plug-Out models of the Jupiter-8, Juno-106 & JX-3P, in addition to its native synth engine. Additional Plug-Outs are available, including the SH-2, SH-101, PROMARS and System-100.

  1. Cool, but I’d love an update for System 1m. Why can’t I shut off Velocity!?! This synth makes great sounds, but WTF!?

  2. I’m incredibly excited, I have issued a 3p, loved the sound and I have gone back and forth about buying the 03, but hey, I have a system 8! That’s all I need

  3. I am 50 years old and have owned every major Roland synth. I can tell you that these plugouts are not even close. I find the TAL VST’s to be far superior and some of them are even free I think. The Roland ones just sound bad, especially the SH-101 and I currently have and original SH-101 and will vouch for the TAL version on that.

  4. I need major help. I have a sys 8 and I want to get the v1.2 and 1.3 updates but have found nearly nothing made by roland or any YouTubers to support that walkthrough. Any one willing to help please contact me
