  1. I’m surprised if Serato doesn’t already support a MIDI clock in some fashion. Are DJs separate from MIDI implementations typically?

  2. Of all the upgrades Roland could have released, this is perhaps the most obscure and pointless for 99.9% of their user base.

  3. I don’t get it. Roland drum machines require a firmware update to slave to MIDI?

Is there something going on here that can’t be done with plain vanilla MIDI?

      1. + 100000000000000000000000000000000000

This update is compatible with all non-Roland devices, such as
        * Using this functionality requires a DJ controller compatible with Serato DJ Pro.
        * The Roland DJ-202, DJ-505, and DJ-808 cannot be used as the DJ controller.

  4. has the tr8s a song mode? never read about it. after the demise of ikutar? kakehashi, roland went down the road of *performance* only (aira). no gear for actual *production* anymore (mc909, mc808, mv8800). for comparison: look what inmusic/akai did with the foce: the return of the standalone groovebox. roland people should be ashamed of themselves.
