    1. Maybe the Roland 500 series? Or the Buchla 500? Or maybe they read your comment and collectively sighed and asked what the fuck they’ve just done.

      1. They definitely aren’t. Look on Modular Grid at the most popular modules and scroll down until you see the first Roland 500 pop up. To say that is “popular” and a “style,” is a bit of a reach on it’s own, and then look at the Air plugins and tell me you can see a similarity in either appearance or function. Look, I think these sound great and I’m probably gonna give them a shot. I just think it’s hilarious that they probably got API 500 and Eurorack switched up while naming their product.

    2. ‘500 Series’ refers to a standard format for audio devices – just like Eurorack or MU.’

It’s commonly used for high-end pro audio gear. Manufacturers like Moog have also released synth modules in the format (500 Series Analog Delay).

  1. Air are such a weird VST company, they have made some realy interesting synths but then have almost zero updating (with exception of loom which had a small but realy expensive update), they also have little communication and a realy weird web site for downloading/checking for updates.
They realy need to update their existing VSTs before putting anything new out, they realy need some attention (such as scalable GUIs, they are unusable in 4K for example)

This VST looks interesting enough, but I have STiX which is similar but also has a great step sequencer, softube also do something like this ( ant remember the name, but it’s alwats on sale)

I expect to see this synth on sale soon for just a few bucks as all the other Air Instruments are…..

    1. it’s not that weird if you see it something like an R&D department of inMusic, not an independent company of its own. Think AMG for Mercedes.

    2. The softube one is called heartbeat. In my opinion a very underrated drum machine, I use it all the time. Very easy to use and sounds fantastic. Its drum modules can be used inside ST Modular too.

  2. Got it from Plugin Boutique but honestly I expected much more!
Presets are unuseful and sounds unusable… unless you do “Experimental Music”
    Just trashed Hundred bucks
    STiX is way better!
