Eventide Brings Hardware Effects To iOS

Eventide has released three new audio effects for iOS: Blackhole Reverb, UltraTap Delay, and MicroPitch.

Each is based on an Eventide hardware effect, and is available as both a standalone app and as AUv3 plugin for use in iOS DAWs.

Here’s what they have to say about each:

Blackhole Reverb

Create out of this world ambiance with Blackhole, a reverb effect as big as the cosmos. Blackhole breaks the rules by allowing you to create virtual spaces that could never exist in reality. At large sizes, its soft attack and lingering, harmonic tails allow it to really shine on guitars, strings, vocals and pads. At small sizes those very same qualities can add an angelic sheen to vocals or turn a simple drum track into an otherworldly rhythm section.

UltraTap Delay

UltraTap is a unique multi-tap effect capable of rhythmic delays, glitchy reverbs, huge pad-like volume swells and extraordinary modulation. It’s the perfect tool for creating drum fills, vocal choruses, swelling guitar chords and other evolving effects — everything from reversed reverbs to a massed church choir singing a Gregorian chant in Notre-Dame Cathedral.

MicroPitch

MicroPitch is a fine-resolution pitch shifter for subtle tone fattening, plus delays for interesting slap back effects. With origins in the legendary Eventide H3000 Harmonizer®, MicroPitch is the effect that put Eventide on the map. The plug-in allows mixing in detuned and delayed versions of a signal creating depth and dimensions not possible before with expanded controls for deep pitch dives, haunting echoes, and pristine chorusing effects.

  1. These are awesome algorithms! However, I already have an H969, H3000, GTR4000, H8000FW, and a bucket of H9’s, so going to let this pass…

  2. I have both an H9 and Eventide VST’s but still bought all three of these for the iPad to use with Auria and Cubasis. These IOS versions so far seem to sound on par with my other versions.

  3. Just bought them all…now I can’t put my iPad down. Blackhole is the lush quality of reverb I needed on my iPad since I wasn’t satisfied with any of the other ones for studio quality recordings. These easily take my iPad to desktop levels audio wise.
