Noatikl 3 Generative Music Composer Now Available

noatiklIntermorphic has introduced Noatikl 3, the latest version of their iOS generative music system.

Noatikl a 16 track MIDI generating system, with 120+ parameters & many included generative music templates. Sound generation is via the integral Partikl Sound Engine, a stereo sound source comprising a modular synth with Soundfont (SF2)/DLS support + live FX.

Noatikl also supports MIDI out if you want to drive external MIDI synths or samplers.

SpringSound For iOS Updated With Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression

Version 2 adds support for Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE) and more.

Blamsoft Intros Zero Chorus Audio Unit Extension For iOS


Blamsoft has introduced Zero Chorus – a Audio Unit Extension for iOS, inspired by the Roland Dimension D chorus.

The same algorithm is found in the Zero Hybrid Synthesizer Rack Extension for Propellerhead Reason. The available parameters allow you to dial in a wide variety of chorus effects, from transparent to heavy. It’s great for thickening electric guitar or synth parts.

iMaschine 2 Lets You Create Entire Tracks


Native Instruments today released a major new release of its beatmaking app for iOS, iMaschine 2.

While the original iMaschine focused on beatmaking, iMaschine 2 is designed to let you create entire tracks. It adds new arranging options, new note entry options, an arpeggiator, color-coded pads, 3D Touch support and more.

Unfortunately, the specs make no mention of Audiobus, MIDI support or Audio Copy/Paste.

Roli Debuts 3-D Touch Equator Synth for iPhone, Flip Case for RISE

ROLI_RISE_Equator_FlipCaseAdvanced MIDI controller creator ROLI today announced two new products for mobile music-makers.

The Equator for iPhone app ports the company’s Equator software synthesiser to the latest iPhone, using the Apple device’s 3D Touch capabilities.

One of the first music apps on Apple’s App Store to take advantage of the iOS 9 interface update’s  3D Touch feature for sound control, Equator for iPhone will feature a simulated experience of the Seaboard Rise’s keywave surface. Pressing on the screen of the iPhone 6s, users can shape sound on a virtual keywave surface in much the same way as they control sound on the pressure-sensitive Seaboard Rise.

Ableton Link Makes Live Unnecessary

One of the most intriguing elements of Ableton’s Live 9.5 release, earlier this week, was the announcement of Ableton Linka technology that keeps devices in time over a wireless network. 

The idea behind Ableton Link is to streamline syncing of multiple devices – both computers running Live and iOS devices running music apps – you just connect & sync wirelessly.

Link will soon be available to Live users as a free update, so two Live users will be able to sync wirelessly.
