Cakewalk announced yesterday the “Cambridge” release for SONAR Artist, Professional, and Platinum.
This release, the second major update in the SONAR Membership program, includes added functionality, such as an onscreen virtual MIDI controller for multi-touch or QWERTY triggering, Mix Recall that now remembers all output and Bus routing as well as mix parameters, increased import/export support (Ogg Vorbis, legacy formats, the RF64 standard spec’ed by the EBU, improved MP3 export and more), new effects (ProChannel edition of Boz Digital Labs’ Panipulator, Anderton Collection “Phasor Constructor”), and an exclusive Les Paul Gold Top expansion pack for Dimension Pro with 30 new programs. Additionally, there are another 50 enhancements and fixes requested by the SONAR Membership community.
Cakewalk has announced their new Braintree release for Sonar Artist, Professional, and Platinum member/subscribers. Cakewalk recently debuted a new membership/subscription program, which gives Sonar users “regular access to new features, enhancements, and content.”
The recent Braintree* release addresses improvements requested by the community, and includes new content that complements Sonar’s “rich feature set” with a range of new presets and innovative loop libraries.

2015 NAMM Show: Cakewalk has announced a new SONAR product lineup and a new model for buying and owning DAW software.
With the new SONAR, the company is introducing a Membership model. Now, users have the option to choose either a traditional upfront payment, or to make monthly payments. New users receive 12 months of Membership free, while for current SONAR users, Membership renewal—which is priced similarly to a traditional lower priced product upgrade brings new updates every month instead of yearly (and sometimes overwhelming) updates.

Musikmesse 2014: Cakewalk today announced SONAR X3e – a free update which will be available on cakewalk.com later this month.
The update is for all three versions of the SONAR family (X3, X3 Studio, and X3 Producer), and, according to Cakewalk, focuses on direct ‘wish list’ feedback from Cakewalk customers.
SONAR X3e features nearly 100 enhancements, including improvements to the audio engine, loop recording, ARA (Audio Random Access), comping and more. Continue reading
