MoReVoX has released a new drum samples library, DRIVEDRUMS.

DRIVEDRUMS has been developed by generating distortion through different kind of devices. Vacuum Tubes, Analog Tapes, Preamps are been used to create samples with light to aggressive and violent distorsion.

The MoReVoX DRIVEDRUMS’s Samples have been divided into two categories: Drive Samples and Over Samples.

• The Drive Samples have been developed starting from the classic hardware harmonic distortion, so all the samples contain a smoother distortion character (Tape compression warmth, subtle valve saturation).
• The Over Samples instead are based on distortion; the samples have been developed finding their character in conjunction with the hardware distortion (Valve/Console Preamps, Analog Tape Saturation, Heavy Valve Compression, Dedicated distortion outboard).

MoReVoX DRIVEDRUMS contains 30 Kicks, 30 Snares, 8 Toms Racks, 30 Cymbals and more for a total of 800 Samples 24Bit|44.1khz.

MTK Sound Factory has released a free sound pack of more than 150 Hip Hop Drums, organized in folders (Claps, Kicks, Snares…):

I used various tools to make these sounds:

- “Analog” sounds are real drums recorded via an Onyx Mackie Sound Card & various microphones (Studio Project, Senheiser, Akg, Shure…)

- “Vinyl” sounds were extracts from vinyl records.

- “Synthetic” sounds are created with Vst Drum Synths & Fx.

The 1st Pack includes Drums in various styles: Dirty South, West Coast, R&B…

2009 Winter NAMM Show: Scheduled for release in later Spring 2009 is the Mixosaurus KIT B virtual drum library.

Description:

“B” as in Big … Boom … Bubinga! We’ve set up a fine TAMA Starclassic Bubinga kit in the big, ambient Teldex Lounge, fitted it with EVANS heads and completed the package with a set of Cymbals by various manufacturers that were all hand-selected by Uwe. Going for a heavy, robust and guaranteed-to-cut-through sound we use larger drum and cymbal sizes this time (e.g. 19″ and 20″ Crashes/China, and a 16″ Bubinga Floor Tom … ugh!), and on top of the great Teldex Reverb Chamber you also get “classic” Ambience Mic tracks.

Apart from that, it’ll be a true MIXOSAURUS Kit with all the indispensable ingredients: Pristine quality drums and cymbals, meticulous engineering, incredible dynamic range and unrivalled artistic versatility.

PowerFX has announced three new Reason Refills:

• eXode Trance Refill
• Scandinavian Roots Refill
• Hip Drums Refill

eXode Trance Refill is the latest offering from Reason guru “eXode”, who has previously created an expansion Piano refill for Propellerheads, a soundset in Reason 4 and the Mjolnir Refill.

The Trance Refill contains over 350 Thor, Combinator, sequence and effects patches with a hard slant towards electronic dance music. The download is for REASON 4 only and is available for $59.

Hip Drums Refill was created from recordings of the Yamaha Hip Gig drumset. These drums have a tight, focused sound which is ideally suited for musical styles Pop, Funk and Rock.

The refill includes 252 Rex files and 2 multisampled NN-XT key mapped kit patches in General Midi format. This combination makes the Hip Drums Refill a complete drum production tool and the download is available for $29.

Scandinavian Roots offers 19 multi-sampled instruments like the Hurdy Gurdy, Kantele, Swedish Bagpipes, Pump Organ and the Offerdahl Pipe and over 980 REX file loops. Additionally, the refill contains 26 NN-XT patches and 28 Combinator patches and is available for $79.
