Developer Jakob Penca has released STROM – described as ‘an incredibly fun sampler’ for the iPad. It also offers tight integration with the Elektron Analog Rytm.
STROM lets you record up to 10 seconds of audio, slice and sequence it and resample it to create something new.
The interface lets you sequence your source material in unique ways. You can always resample what you play, and you can even edit slices while you are playing them. Continue reading

Reader Tubesockor started his son out young, teaching him how to use the Elektron Analog Four.
Now his son is covering Depeche Mode. Here’s what he has to say about the video:
My 7-year old son started to learn my Elekron Analog Four, and actually got pretty good at it. Since he loves “Photographic” by Depeche Mode (and had been playing it on the piano) he taught himself to program it into the A4.
One day I thought I should just capture what he’s doing on video to keep as a memory, and a the same time learn a two-cam setup. This is the result – all filmed in one go. There are English subtitles available in the video as well.
