Galbanum has released Abstraction 04: Found Sound Urban Intelligence, a new sample library in the Abstraction series.

Abstraction 04 is an all-you-can-eat buffet of domestic “found sound”, which has been purposefully polished, refined, and formated into rhythmic loop adders designed to spice up your percussive pallet and inject freshness into your grooves. This time around however, it is targeted directly at down tempo breaks, centrally-Intelligent hip-hop, and experimental urban futurism. Furthermore, this massive second helping of glitch rhythms and real-world sampled eccentricism, is for the first time paired together with analog kick and snare loops to synergistically co-create some seriously freaky future funk designed to make 3008 look old-school.

All Abstraction 04 loop content is produced at a native tempo of 106 BPM and is designed to effortlessly stretch from 90BPM to 120BPM and beyond to fit all tempo ranges used in current urban and down-tempo breaks music sub-genres. Read more…

Galbanum has released a new sound library – Abstraction 03: Found Sound Club Edition – described as a “cornucopia of pseudo organic glitch rhythms and real-world sampled eccentricism, where any household sound – from the hand saw, to the power drill, to literally the kitchen sink – is fair game as a substitution for a normal drum machine.”

All Abstraction 03 loop content is produced at a native tempo of 128 BPM and can be stretched to fit all tempo ranges used in current dance music sub-genres.

Galbanum’s Synth Expansion Line products are downloadable collections of professionally designed presets and resources for industry-leading virtual synths. Abstraction 01 MS is a premium format of Galbanum’s Abstraction 01 loop collection for use in U&I Software’s MetaSynth.

In addition to reproducing all of the bleeding-edge Abstraction 01 content in MetaSynth native formats, the MS version also offers an additional 200 new loops and grants access to exclusive power tools to transform and algorithmically mutate new custom loops.

The true power of the MS format is that, like the REX format, the loops represent both a collection of isolated samples and the performance data. Many sound-ware developers today offer various technologies to allow manipulation of the musical performance embedded in a REX groove or instrument phrase, but nothing can compare with the unique graphical power of MetaSynth.

Micro and macro edits and transformations which would take hours in other tools can be made in seconds. Abstraction 01 MS includes a collection of 64 graphical groove patterns which can be used as filters and displacement maps to quickly generate variations or completely new performances. It thus represents not only a sample loop collection, but also a custom algorithmic loop production factory.

Galbanum Architecture Waveforms were originally developed for Architecture Volume One, a massive 8GB resource DVD for U&I Software’s Metasynth, and contained over 1,000 waveforms. These waveforms were then translated for NI Absynth, and licensed in part by NI for use in Massive. Galbanum continues to update and expand this collection and this edition is effectively the third version of the library. The total number of Waveforms for this version of the collection is now over 2,500. It offers some very interesting new categories and vastly expands on the some of the previous ones.
