This is a demo of Audioxygen’s Gemini VSTi, a huge fat soft synth for Windows .

Description:

This Synthesizer combines a huge fat, analogue sound with unique step sequencers and radical distortion. It excels in Raging Techno baselines, Psy/Goa FX, Hardstyle screams, Shimmering pads, Massive Trance leads and much more.

Key features:

Huge, fat analogue sound with unique detuning algorithm.

Radical Resonance and Distortion behavior down to the lowest sub frequencies.

Unique dual step sequencers which can modulate each other for stunning sequences.

Super-easy to operate. Every knob turn really changes the sound, like Macro controls.

Yeah – they describe it as huge, fat and analogue twice, which is doubly redundant. Why? Because huge and fat go hand in hand with analogue, right? Especially when you use the UK spelling for analogue, which equals huge and fat.

They’ve got a free demo at the site, though, so check it out and let us know how huge, fat, radical and raging this virtual analogue bad boy can get.

NAMM 2006 Winter Show: Gemini introduced PS-02USB DJ Mixer.

The keys to the PS-02USB’s exceptionality are the two USB ports located on the mixer’s back panel. With the added connectivity, DJs have the ability to mix in music directly from their PC while recording the overall mix directly to their PC. With full-duplex capability, the PS-02USB allows these operations to be performed simultaneously without any third party software or hardware.

“With the debut of our new and improved product line, we wanted to make sure our USB mixer would go with the flow of the new updates,” said Mark Matthews, Gemini’s Director of Marketing and Product Development, “We also wanted to create an innovative product while keeping it within the financial reach of the average DJ – by adapting the USB feature to the original PS-02 design, we were able to do just that.”

In addition to USB connectivity, the PS-02USB features 6 line, 3 convertible phono/line RCA inputs, 3-Band EQ Kill Switches with Flash Effect, dual VU display, a fully featured front panel, and a master output fader. The PS-02USB has an MSRP of $329.95.

At the 2006 Winter NAMM Show, Gemini announced the iTrax Mixing Console for the iPod, the newest addition to their iSeries product line. The iTrax joins the Numark iDJ, to allow users to mix the output of two iPods, with basic dj functionality.

The iTrax comes with two angled docking stations that allow the user easy access to iPod controls when browsing through music libraries. Each iPod channel features 3-band EQ controls with Gain and phono/line input switches for the incorporation of other audio devices such as turntables, CD players, and more.

On the mixing console’s back panel, the iTrax is equipped a composite video output for use with the latest Photo/Video-enabled iPod products, 2 phono/line inputs, and a USB port that will allow the iTrax to function as a dock when connected to a computer, allowing the user to edit the music library of either iPod.

“The ever growing popularity of the iPod has been apparent for quite sometime, so we knew we needed an affordable solution for users who want to mix with these devices,” said Louis Dorio, Gemini’s Product Specialist, “With loads of input options, and video/photo iPod support, the iTrax is the ideal platform for iPod mixing.”

In addition to all these great features, the iTrax also features master volume control, dual VU meter display, a user-replaceable X-Fader, a fully featured cue section, and a microphone control panel with 2-band EQ and volume control. The iTrax is set for release in Q2 of 2006 with a suggested retail price of $179.95.

Since the advent of the CD format in the DJ realm, performance DJs have only dreamed of a solution that would combine the classic feel of a turntable with the ability to play both CDs and vinyl. With the release of the Gemini CDT-05, that dream has now become a reality, with the ability to play both vinyl, as well as to play CDs with the hands-on control of a full size direct drive platter.

The CDT-05’s sturdy aluminum platter is driven by a CPU-controlled high-torque direct drive motor, perfectly suited towards vinyl playback or CD manipulation. In both analog (vinyl) and digital (CD) modes, DJs are provided with a variable pitch control, with selectable ranges of 4, 8, 16, or 50 percent, along with pitch bend function as well as master tempo.

Additionally, 3 DSP effects (Filter, Zoom, and Echo) with variable parameter and a forward/reverse switch can be accessed in either mode. During CD playback, the CDT-05 affords 3 hot starts, frame accurate cue, and seamless loop, for ultimate flexibility in the digital domain. The motor can also be disengaged, for DJs that prefer CD decks with a passive, non-motor driven platter. Vinyl DJs will appreciate the removable, virtually unskippable straight tonearm system (sold separately) as well as the versatility of having an all-in-one unit to move forward with the digital revolution, while preserving the legacy of vinyl.
