This is a preview of Pocket Organ C3B3, programmed by Shinya Kasatani, the creator of Pocket Guitar. Pocket Organ C3B3 simulates the draw bar controls and Lislie speaker system of a Hammond B3/C3 organ.
While this may be interesting from a technical standpoint – it’s hard to see how a tiny touchscreen Hammond organ is going to be musically useful. Wouldn’t it make more sense to put the same effort into creating original instruments, designed to make the most expressive use of the iPhone platform’s capabilities?
No release date or pricing has been announced for C3B3 yet.

Iliadis has introduced Efthimia Organ, a Windows virtual instrument. The Efthimia (Greek Name) Organ simulates a Hammond Clone Organ.
Description:
The Sound of this Instrument is not the usual Clean Sine Sound. It’s wilder but still warm. 9 Standard Drawbars for the Upper, 9 for the Lower Manual, 6 for the Pedals, a Percussion Osc with his Harmonic Selector, a Key Click Imitation, the Classical Vibrato Scanner and the Studio Reverb made the Efthimia Organ very powerful.
Details below. If you’ve used Efthimia, leave a comment with your thoughts!

Arturia Origin Updates

Musikmesse 2009: Arturia released an update to its Origin synthesizer.
Version 1.1, to be released in June 2009, includes:
- New B3 ToneWheel Oscillator:
- Combined with the Leslie Effect, the ToneWheel allows the addition of famous
vintage organ sounds, opening Origin to this sonic universe. - In conjunction with other Origin modules and effects, the B3 ToneWheel is a great
oscillator adding new sound design possibilities to explore.
- Combined with the Leslie Effect, the ToneWheel allows the addition of famous
- New Leslie Effect: The Leslie can be used on the ToneWheel to give the classic
Hammond organ sound, but it is also very interesting in other contexts, notably
when used on an audio input (such as a guitar). - New CS-80 envelope: This envelope is modeled after the particular envelope set on
the filter of the CS-80. - New Effects: Bit Crusher, Compressor, Equalizer, Ring Mod, Parametric EQ.
- New Midi possibilities:
- Origin to be used as a MIDI controller
- Origin to be automated via Sysex.
- Sequencer improvements
- Better GUI
- New performance mode.
- Keyboard Module improvements.
- GUI Improvements: Parameter values are now fully displayed.
This is my type of keyboard demo: Hammond guru Tony Monaco jams on the Hammond & demonstrates the Leslie 122.
Not a lot of talk, just a great musician making great music with a great instrument!
These Leslie tone cabinets are designed for single-channel organs whose pedal range extends down into the lower frequencies.
The sound is “separated” with the highs reproduced by a horn rotor and the lows reproduced by a bass rotor. Both the horn and bass rotors can be operated at two speeds : Fast (Tremolo) or Slow (Chorale).
These models also features a traditional tube amplifier for the “warm tube” sound.
