iPad Music Software: This is a sneak preview of an iPad docking station for the Livid Code MIDI controller.

The Livid Code Station is being used to control Korg’s iElectribe.

This is a prototype at this point – no pricing  or availability has been announced, or whether this will even turn into a real product.

If you’re an iPad user, though, check out the video and let us know if you’d be interested in something like this.

Korg iElectribe Gorillaz Edition

iElectribe Gorillaz

Korg has teamed up with the virtual band Gorillaz to create a new beatbox for the iPad: The Korg iELECTRIBE Gorillaz Edition.

While retaining the intuitive beat-making features of the iElectribe, the Gorillaz Edition is a new machine customized to generate Gorillaz samples from their fourth album The Fall. The iElectribe Gorillaz Edition features: 128 new sounds created by Gorillaz; and 64 ready-to-use pre-programmed patterns by the sound team Gorillaz, Stephen Sedgwick, and Korg.

Unfortunately, the Gorillaz sounds appear to not be cleared for commercial use. Korg notes, ” Commercial use of the works created by using this application is subject to the copyright clearance from right holders.”

A “limited run of 10,000 units” is available in the App Store for US $9.99.

We’d prefer to see this less “limited” and more copyright cleared, but it’s sure to be a hit for Korg, anyway.
