Articles about intelliScore:

Innovative Music Systems has announced that the Ensemble Edition of their flagship product intelliScore is now available. IntelliScore Ensemble listens to prerecorded or live music (in WAV, MP3, WMA, or CD format) comprised of several different instruments and helps create a multiple-track MIDI (.mid) file containing the notes played, broken down by instrument. The MIDI file, in turn, is suitable for notation, cleanup/editing, and playback.

Innovative Music Systems introduced the world’s first polyphonic audio to MIDI converter eight years ago. Now, they have introduced the world’s only multiple-instrument audio to MIDI converter.

“Many have considered multi-instrument conversion to be the ‘holy grail’ of music recognition,”? said Joe Kohler, president of Innovative Music Systems. “Now, that quest is finally a reality with intelliScore Ensemble.”

In addition to supporting multiple instruments, the latest intelliScore provides other new features. For example, if the audio recording is a drum track, intelliScore can create a MIDI file to indicate where the beats are. It also now supports WMA (Windows Media Audio) files and the converting of several audio files at the same time.

intelliscoreInnovative Music Systems, Inc. has announced the release of version 6.1 of its patented intelliScore music recognition software that listens to prerecorded polyphonic music (in WAV, MP3, or CD format) and creates a MIDI file containing the notes played, likely chord names, and overall key. The MIDI file, in turn, is suitable for notation, cleanup/editing, and playback. Musicians and educators can now spend more time making music and teaching and less time transcribing unfamiliar pieces. Since intelliScore is polyphonic, it works with music containing more than one note at a time.

IntelliScore also allows musicians to play an acoustic instrument attached to their computer and see the notation of their performance appear instantly in a MIDI editing or notation program, such as the included Anvil Studio.

As a real-time MIDI synthesizer controller, musicians can sing into a microphone and hear a different instrument sound come out, playing the same notes as are being sung. IntelliScore detects and recreates many of the expressive nuances contained in the original performance, such as pitch bend, vibrato, tremolo, and portamento.

Now in its 6th generation, the company’s patented technology is constantly improving. “Practical polyphonic music recognition was once believed by many to be impossible, but this is now becoming a reality as a result of our continual research,” said Joe Kohler, president of Innovative Music Systems. “Our growing dealer network and thousands of satisfied customers confirm this.”

Innovative Music Systems, a privately-held music software publishing company located in Coral Springs, Florida, USA, is a leader in music recognition technology.

      something to think about

The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees one’s self. And the arbitrariness of the constraint serves only to obtain precision of execution. — Igor Stravinsky
