Jordan Rudess put together this video, which is both a special message to Mellofest 2009 and an emphatic approval of our Ellatron App for the iPhone.

Personally, I am so thrilled to see him play Ellatron, and the way he manages to hold the iPhone and play chord pads and individual notes (and fingered chords) at the same time is an amazing feat of dexterity and balance. Let me say here – thank you Jordan and Richard for putting this together, it was *VERY* well received by both the organizer of the festival and the crowd.

This was filmed January 16th, 2009 at 3pm at the Roland Booth. I used my Sony HDR-HC3 HD Camcorder at 1080i and the Audio unfortunately is from the same source.

Yes i’m aware that you cant see any of his finger work unless i panned over to the screen but i shot this so you can hear his work live and not to mention, all true Rudess fans will appreciate it =)

While a tragic fate may still await most guys that play the keytar, there may still be hope. 

This photo proves that a guy can look completely badass playing the Zen Riffer Solo Axe – a custom MIDI keyboard instruments. 

Unfortunately, these start at about $3,000. Anybody made an equally bad ass portable keyboard?
