Vintage Korg Synth Jam
This is a vintage Korg synth jam featuring:Korg MS-50, MS-20, MS-20 and SQ-10.
via Newueel:
Another interesting experiment with only original live created MS-20 / MS-50 sounds (incl. beat), no FX at all!
The SQ-10 triggers and sequences all synths:
- The MS-50 plays a rythmic bass pattern (SQ-10 channel A+B).
- The MS-20 plays another rythmic pattern using 2 different tuned VCO’s, also sequenced by channel A+B, but using the inverted signal, which also goes through the MS-50 integrator for portamento purposes. EG1 controls the VCO frequency and swaps between 2 CV values every 32(!) steps, by using step 1 trigger output (which triggers once every 8 steps) divided by 4 (MS-50 divider) to generate a trigger once every 32 steps.
- The other MS-20 plays a simple beat, a bass drum with hi-hat pattern (channel C).

Fat Korg Synth Video
This is a trippy audio demo and video featuring Korg MiniKorg and MicroKorg synthesizers.

Korg Analogue 4-Part Fugue (Visualised)
via Newueel:
For this experiment I used Ableton Live to create a 12-step, 4-part loop, using 4 different chords: Cmaj7, Bbmaj7, Eb9, C#9(#11). It contains a bass line, a 2-part chord phrase and a 1-part lead phrase.
Then the SQ-10 is ‘programmed’ to play the same loop using 3 analog synthesizers (MS-50 + MS-20 + MS-20). (Not using Ableton!) The SQ-10 only controls the CV-values and triggers for all synths, which makes it easy to use the same loop with many different sound variations. The bass and lead parts are triggered each step, the chords are triggered only each 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th step.
The main idea was to create some chords by playing a bass line and 2 or 3 additive notes. The MS-50 plays the bass line. The 2-part chords are played by the MS-20 (L) using both oscillators. OSC2 pitch offset is tuned to play 1 octave+3rd on top of OSC1. The other MS-20 (R) plays the lead (and adds another chord voicing).
The Ableton midi clip is animated to visualise the SQ-10 loop for each step and channel.
Music Studio: Unboxing the Korg OASYS Synthesizer
via adiblasi:
I made a ‘crown jewel’ addition to my synth collection, specifically, the Korg OASYS 88.
This clip will give you an intro to this amazing synth, and allow you to share the joy in unboxing and playing this keyboard for the very first time!
These guys had a lot of fun unboxing the Korg OASYS synth, “divorced, separated from the music studio!”
