Articles about MacMice:

GuitarPlugMacMice has introduced the GuitarPlug and MicPlug USB audio converters.

“With more people using recording software, like Apple’s GarageBand or Logic, to build music tracks at home, we realized that an entirely new approach was called for to connect instruments and microphones to the computer, something much smaller and simpler than anything else that’s available,” said C.J. Sorg, Manager, Music Products for DVForge, Inc. “Our patent-pending approach to creating small, but high quality digital interface products has resulted in the GuitarPlug and the MicPlug, for connecting an electric guitar or dynamic microphone, respectively, to any modern computer using a simple USB cable.”

MicPlugBoth GuitarPlug and MicPlug are cylindrical, 2.3″ by .7″ in size, are USB bus powered, have an on-off switch, and have a blue LED power indicator. They convert mono analog audio to 16-bit, 48KHz better then CD-quality digital USB audio, and are class compliant, plug and play devices.

The GuitarPlug, right, has a 1/4-inch guitar plug for use with any analog electric guitar or bass, and the MicPlug, left, has an XLR plug for use with any dynamic stage microphone. Both products will have a MSRP of $49.99.

PodbuddyMacMice has introduced the PodBuddy car connection system for Apple iPods.

“We decided last year that a flex tube would be a great solution for mounting an Apple iPod in a car,” said DVForge Executive Vice President, Chuck Leonard. “So, we have spent a year doing the needed engineering and design work to build a great product. That product, the PodBuddy, is the first car mount solution in the world to work without an adapter with any model of Apple dock-connector equipped iPod or iPod mini. And, while we were at it, we completely reengineered the way that FM transmitters have historically worked in cars. We think we’ve hit the mark, and that the PodBuddy is the first car mount FM connection device to come to market that will please any owner.”

The PodBuddy has a high-grip cigarette lighter plug, connected to an adjustable iPod holding cradle by a 6-inch length of flexible steel tubing. The mounting/charging cradle uses a patent-pending adjusting mechanism to fit any model of dock connector iPod or iPod mini. The built-in all-original FM transmitter includes a patent-pending circuit that automatically selects and displays the best available FM radio frequency, permitting the user to simply accept that frequency, and tune the car radio to the same station, avoiding the constant hunt for open stations required by other music transmitters. PodBuddy also includes a high-quality line output jack at the lighter plug end of the product, for direct connection to an appropriate car stereo system.

The PodBuddy is available in both white and Special Edition black versions, and will begin shipping in February at a MSRP of $99.99.

The GarageKey has 37 full-size, professional quality, velocity sensitive keys. It has octave up and down buttons discretely placed on the rear panel. It is plug and play compliant with OS X USB-MIDI.

Plus, GarageKey is the only MIDI keyboard available that includes clear acrylic riser legs that permit using the GarageKey sitting between an Apple wired or wireless keyboard and a display. There is space underneath the GarageKey for stowing away an Apple keyboard, as well.

GarageKey has an MSRP of $119.99.
