Meteor Multitrack Recorder Updated With AudioBus

Meteor Multitrack for the iPadDeveloper 4Pockets has updated Meteor Multitrack Recorder with AudioBus support and more.

Here’s what’s new in Meteor v1.4:

  • This version of Meteor now supports the AudioBus application, allowing you to record live audio directly from other compatible applications.
  • Allows transferring of .mov, .m4a and .m4v files to and from DropBox.
  • You can now import videos from a file as well as the Camera Roll (using the video plugin).
  • Added a Reset Audio option to the ‘Help’ menu.
  • Added support for push notifications.
  • Fixed a bug which prevented pan controllers to be transmitted to connected MIDI instruments.

New Film Features Soundtrack Created On iPhone, iPad

4Pockets Audio, creator of Aurora Sound Studio & Meteor Multi-Track Recorder, reports that a new movie, Gothic Assassins, features a soundtrack created using iPads and iPhones:

The new Milos Twilight movie Gothic Assassins due for release shortly has a soundtrack entirely composed on Apple iPad?s and iPhones. Whilst many might have branded Milos as mad when they first heard his concept for creating his soundtrack check out some of these tracks to see just what he has accomplished.

Milos used a range of apps including Meteor Multitrack Recorder, Aurora Sound Studio HD and StompBox.

Developer 4Pockets, the people behind the iPad music apps Aurora Sound Studio, Meteor Multitrack Recorder and StompBox, offers their take on audio and MIDI interfaces for the the iPad.

Devices covered include:

  • IK Multimedia iRig
  • Peavey AmpKit
  • Using USB audio interfaces
  • The Apogee Jam
  • The Alesis iO Dock
  • E-Mu MIDI Tab

There are already a wide range of audio interfaces for iOS users, from the cheap and basic to more expensive digital audio interfaces. If you’ve got an existing USB audio interface, getting a Camera Connection Kit will probably offer the best bang for the buck, as long as your audio interface is IOS compatible.

Meteor Multitrack for the iPad

iPad Music Software: Meteor – a digital multi-track recorder for the iPad – has been updated to version 1.1, adding MIDI sequencing support.

The program features up to 12 tracks of audio, a built in mixer and multi-effects processor.

Here’s what’s new in Meteor Multitrack Recorder 1.1:

  • Stereo Tracks
    • Stereo Recording and Stereo Tracks complete with Pure Stereo Imports
    • The Editing facilities have all been updated to include Editing Stereo Sounds from other Apps.
    • Insert Stereo Effects and Stereo Channels.
  • MIDI
    • Meteor 1.1 includes the ability to Record and Play Midi Tracks and Sync with External Hardware using the MIDI Clock.
    • It also includes a new MIDI Editor available through In-App purchase. This will allow full editing of MIDI Note and Controllers as well as Scrubbing, Step Recordings and In-Place Editing of main MIDI Parts.
  • Other improvements:
    • Improved Menu System
    • Improved Editor Selection
    • Quantize of both MIDI and Audio data
    • Revert to saved function
    • Improved selection in Editor
    • Course, Medium and Fine Controllers for both MIDI and Audio Tracks
    • Track Names which will appear in the Mixer
    • And finally Assign Custom Colours to parts of a song i.e. make the chorus easy to identify by assigning the colour blue.
