This is an interesting, though dated, commercial from 1967 that features a musique concrete sound-collage soundtrack created by Frank Zappa.

via cranjo16:

In 1967, I hired Frank Zappa for $2,000 to do the sound track for this animated tv commercial that I was animating and producing. It won a clio award for “best use of sound.” it was the beginning of a two year relationship that had me filming 14 hours of footage to be used for a film he called “Uncle Meat”.

Tim Prebble demonstrates effects made with bowed cymbals. Bowed cymbal sounds interesting forward and backwards, as the video shows.
The question I have is this: if you play a cymbal with a bow, is it still a percussion instrument?
