Click here to view the embedded video.

Last week, Bleep Labs introduced the Thingamagoop 2 with a teaser at their site.

Now they’ve put together this video showing the Thingamagoop 2 in squelchy action.

The Thingamagoop 2 is a DIY kit that sells for $100.

Here’s what’s new in the Thingamagoop 2:

Analog VCO controlled by analog or digital signal from Arduino. (A separate Arduino board is not required)

Sample and hold, Arpeggios, noise, and bit crush effects with open source code so you can program your own sounds!

All the analog sounds of the original Thingamagoop.

Controllable LEDacle – Ramp and random waveforms with rate control.

New modulators – Square wave amplitude modulator and triangle wave pulse width modulator.

Tough, stomp box type body with silk screened graphics in 3 different styles.

Easy to access battery – No more screws!

Much fuller and louder speaker.

CV in and out.

Arduino Programmer jack. Easily hook an Ardunio board up to the Thingamagoop 2.

Kit now comes with a pre-drilled enclosure.

Still assembled in Austin, Texas by Dr. Bleep and friends.

via drbleep:

Performed on the CRuNCh lab 1972 Moog Modular synthesizer, with video projection of an attached oscilloscope.

Executed from a score with parametric envelopes assigned to different performers. Rough synchronization is achieved with stop-watches, and four short sections in the piece (each about a minute long) allow for some controlled improvisation.

Paul Hembree, Chris Rippey, Steve Snowden, and Curtis Peel, performers.

via PHIntermedia:

Can anyone figure out what the ground-bass theme is?

Also thanks to Brandon Vaccaro and Sean Brady for help with the MAX panning patch (the only digital aspect of the work… sadly we didn’t have enough voltage controlled amplifiers, nor enough mixer channels on the Moog to produce 4 channel spatizalization).

This has been on MySpace video for a while because they do not have a ten minute time limit. However, I figured I should expose this work to YouTube, so I cut the piece in half and I’m posting both chunks.

Noise Soft has released Break Filter, an industrial / breakcore filter effect plug-in for Windows.

They describe it as a custom stereo “all band” filter effect, with noise-based distortion that can take your sound from natural gain to frequency and phase shifted chaos.

Break Filter is available now as a Windows VST for $29.

Features:

Gain — Lowest setting is pure bypass and highest setting is extreme distortion, almost to the point of white noise. *The filter also works great even when the distortion GAIN knob is set to “0? or bypass.

Pitch — Adjusts the affected pitch of the filter from low bassy drones to high pitched ringing.

Resonance — Adjusts the resonance of the filter, from minimal effect to drone sound and everything between.

Freq — The frequency control for the filter has custom coded extreme frequency shifting, capable of lo-fi filtering in the low knob settings, all the way to harsh industrial/punk effects.

Left and Right — These are separate controls for left and right phase shifting. These control panning for the different layers of our complex resonant filter layers.

This video shows some applications from Lemur Breakpoint Object working like a MIDI sequencer, nodes triggering notes and fix them to a selected scale, minor, major, penthatonic, etc.

Also there´s a cc automation page to remote synth/sampler parameters.

The Main idea was to use it for soundscapes, and some pseudo random melodies.((Still in progress))

The Noisering is the same as the Wiard 1200 series but with the addition of a toggle switch that will make the jack above it a clock input or clock output.

Sunday Synth Jam: spunkytoofer’s circuit bent yamaha tg33 vector synth and akai ewi 4000s is a circuit-bent synth jam, featuring Akai EWI.

Synth & patch details below.

via spunkytoofers:

circuit bent tg33 vector synth with akai ewi. the dave smith evolver is used to filter and amplify the tg33 synthesizer only.

the vector synth features a db25 breakout box that connects to the tg33 unit. approximately half of the 300 or so waveforms are circuit bendable so it is possible to stack traditional synthesizer waveforms with voices that are circuit bendable allowing you to morph from the known to the aleatoric landscapes , weird tones, sounds, and patterns as well as the bizzare responses from a circuit bent synth.

i just got done bending it and this is my first run through after setting up a patch.. but once i get that vector remapped to pedal controllers, now we’re talking.

The Quintrigger, by Mr.Ugly, is an interesting suitcase style, steampunk-esque noise machine:

It’s a quintoscillator feeding into a Hex-Schmitt Trigger that I fed back into itself. The first of many projects where I design something from scratch then circuit bend the shit out of it. The quintoscillator triggers the Schmitt Trigger, then the Schmitt Trigger feeds back into itself via all of those lovely switches! Each switch has 3 positions of modulation, so the number of drone combinations is amazing! And there’s 4 separate outputs. I think that if each output was run through effects into a mixer, you could create some pretty intense walls of symphatic drone. And it all runs off a 9V adapter.

Have fun getting this through TSA inspections!

This is a demo of a semi-modular noise generator made using 4 simple circuits:

toy keyboard

filter > fuzz > noise oscillator >, circuit bent pre-amp (removed from toy karaoke)

loud object >>>

flashing lights circuit. Works as 2 step seq, lfo modulator, noise oscillator (removed from toy)

The only control is a slider that controls a low-pass filter.
