In that time, iPhone music software has gone from being a novelty to being a practical option for mobile music creation.

This a landmark video for Amidio Inc, since exactly 1 year ago we published our first video of Noise.io iPhone synthesizer (in early beta).

Now, 1 year since that, we have created 5 music apps, that can be used together to produce a full-blown track. This video shows you a tiny bit of what’s possible. All sounds generated on the iPhone and then sent through an FX processor.

We really think that handheld mobile devices – with the iPhone being the first of them – are the key to the future of music creation and are strongly inclined to continue developing revolutionary music applications.

This is a quick demo fo Star Melody for iPhone (App Store link).

Star Melody is a generative sequencer and recorder, created by Amidio, the developers of Noise.io Pro:

We liked the Bloom concept but found it somewhat limited. That’s why we decided to expand it as much as we could.

Now you have 5 different sample sets. Each sample set consists of 2 playable instuments and a background drone layer (generated automatically).

You can define the length and speed (bpm) of the loop. Switch between the instruments with a finger flick/tap. Change note scales and actually see which notes you are playing. Transpose scales if needed.

Star Melody features the “Raindrop Matrix”, which allows accurate panning position of your instruments (left and right), and precise note launch.

Noise Trio (App Store Link) is a free iPhone synthesizer from the maker of Noise.io Pro.

It has three instruments with scale like KAOSSILATOR. First played is Rock Guitar with blues scale, then Arabic flute and Japanese Bells.

It’s based on the Noise.io sound engine, but with limited features.

jetdaisuke apparently has loads of cash, because he’s always demoing new toys. Here, he demos a series of increasingly tiny small synthesizers.

What’s next after the iPhone synthesizer?

Amidio has announced Noise.io, a new app that the company is calling “the first official iPhone/iPod Touch sound synthesizer.”

Noise.io will come with 81 presets and a preset editor that lets you create and manage your own presets.

The iPhone synthesizer is expected to be available at the App Store on 08/25/2008 for $6.99.

Noise.io offers ESFM (Enhanced Subspace Frequency Modulation) synthesis, which the company says is capable of producing all kinds of noises and sound effects.

Making new sounds on the iPhone is simple: you slide your finger over the device surface, and the synth changes the sound in real time. The resulting sound can be synced to BPM via TapBPM function and can be modified with sound effects like chorus, delay and flanger.

The company has working on 2 other iPhone projects:

• Didjer.io (iPhone dijeridoo emulator)
• Flute.io (iPhone flute emulator).

These projects are in early alpha stage.

A VST version of Noise.io is also expected to be released by the end of 2008.
