Kraftwerk’s The Bleep proves that everything sounds a lot naughtier when you censor it.

via commanderkrudge, who says “Even the Grandfathers of Electro Pop only had *bleep* on their mind when writing their classic song The Model.”

For Kraftwerk fun, see this earlier post 11 Unusual Covers Of Kraftwerk’s The Model.

This is a bit off topic, but it just about made me blow coffee out my nose, so I thought you might enjoy it, too.

This video follows the path of Al, a sound technician with a hidden dream.

Al takes us on a voyage of sympathy, anger, revenge, regret and even redemption. Followed by punishment.

Give it a look and let me know what you think!

The video was shot and edited entirely on the road of the Simply Red tour.

productimage-picture-autobahn-414We like the synth t-shirts as much as anybody, but this Autobahn Nagelbett t-shirt has gone straight to the top of the list.

Autobahn is the fictitional techno-pop band, Kraftwerk parody, from The Big Lebowski.

Some Big Lebowski Autobahn trivia for you:

  • The Autobahn album cover is stylistically similar to the cover of the Kraftwerk classic, Man-Machine.
  • The title of their album, Nagelbett, is German for “nail bed.”
  • Song titles on the Autobahn LP Nagelbett include: Saturation, Faking It, Hit and Run, No Way Out, Violate U-Blue, Beg me, Take It In and the classic Edelweiss (Club mix).
  • They are nihilists…..nothing to be afraid of.

      something to think about

I’ve got a mobile scanner and I listen in on conversations. Late at night, loads of couples phone each other up and watch films together. It’s a really popular pastime. I could listen to it for hours. As they’re watching their film, you can turn the TV on and watch it with them. You get the commentary simultaneously. If you listen for more than fifteen minutes, you always get something spicy. — Richard D. James
