Articles about podcasts:

Solipsistic Nation, a podcast that covers all genres of electronic music, sent word about an upcoming show focusing on electronic musicians on Twitter.

Here are the details:

If you’d like to participate in the Twitter mix here’s what I’m looking for:

  1. Your best track. The duration or the genre of electronic music is not important. I’m looking for quality stuff.
  2. Keeping in the spirit of Twitter, I’d like you to record a 140 character intro for the song. It can be why you chose the song to be featured on the Twitter mix or what inspired the song or how you recorded, etc. Anything to give the listener a connection to your song.
  3. I’d also like you to include your website where people can find you on the web and on Twitter. This bit of information is not limited to 140 characters. Both your intro and your personal info can be sent to me as an MP3 at solipsisticnation@gmail.com or you can record it on my voice mail at 1-619-717-6322.
  4. Please keep your intro and personal infor brief one to two minutes.

Here’s Solipsistic Nation’s page on Twitter.

If you’re already using Twitter, this is a great opportunity to get your music heard. If you’re not using Twitter, this might be a good opportunity to give the free service a try and see what it’s about.

And, while you’re there, follow my account, podcasting_news, where I post updates about electronic music, new media and other interesting tidbits.

The Deedlecast is a weekly audio podcast featuring ill-begotten mashups, chillout, downtempo, or dance mixes and remixes of every conceivable kind.

In this podcast episode, DJDeedle liberally applies the Crystal Method to create a hard, ordered repeating pattern extending in all auditory dimensions.  This Deedlecast contains a couple of clearly rude words.

Superfibre – a site that delivers DJ mixes from around the globe – has redesigned its site and dumped its email list.

The site’s been redesigned around podcasting, according to Superfibre’s Jon Godsell. “From now on, there will be no more Superfibre emails,” notes Godsell. “Sad, I know, but it’s all about the PODCAST!!…”

“The site has been redesigned, purely around the DJ mixes,” adds Godsell. “It’s a lot more simple, so I should be able to post a lot more mixes. There will still be Superfibre exclusives, but I’ll also be posting links to the best mixes from all over the web. Plus, you can now comment on the mixes!”

Electronica soundscaper and audio artist Mark Rushton recently moved from his old site, Hooray For Vouvray, back to his old location: http://www.markrushton.com

“It’s just a matter of simplifying things in my life,” said Rushton, 38, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

To celebrate the change, Rushton offers up a new podcast. It’s his eighth since 2004, but his first at MarkRushton.com, and it’s to promote his new CD, Hum And Drift.

“Hum and Drift is a fairly quiet and meditative CD,” says Rushton. “There’s a few grooves towards the end, but by and large it’s very floaty and dreamy. It’s perfect for background music while at home, work, or on the road.”

The podcast features an eight and a half minute “megamix” of portions of every track on the CD. Rushton also offers a free MP3 of the track Sunday’s Drift on his web site.

The CD is manufactured and distributed by CafePress.com, a company out of California, and sold exclusively over the internet. “I’ve been a user of their services since 1999. They’re the best!” says Rushton. He also expects the album to be available on iTunes and other download services by the end of the summer.

A free track from the new CD is available for download.
