This official Ableton video looks at making sounds in Ableton Live with Sampler.

Sampler is a sampling instrument, that brings multisample playback and import, as well as sound design capabilities, to Ableton Live.

This is a demo of the funky Casio SK-10 sampler/synthesizer, by Liz Luttinger.

The SK-10 offers 1.4 seconds of 8-bit sampling goodness, along with some eightiestastic drum beats and synth tones.

Jochem Paap, aka Speedy J, wants to make an album that represents not just him, but the global techno community.

He’s using SoundCloud to create a new global techno project, and he wants you to contribute. He’s ask you to sen him a cool loop, sample, bassline, sound effect to him via his SoundCloud dropbox. I’ve embedded examples of what he is looking for above.

Speedy J will use the input as the raw material for his next album. The project will be released on his label Electric Deluxe and the collectivisation approach will also trickle down through the album’s profits, which will be split 50/50 with all the artists that appear on the album.

It’s a cool concept for an album, and an interesting use of SoundCloud.

The SD2 software allows for millions of variations of each MIDI performance and enables users to change sequence tempo, enhance tone, add effects, alter dynamics, create unique rhythms, and mute or replace specific sounds.

All recordings were made with vintage Neumann microphones in the famous EASTWEST STUDIO 1, providing that unmistakable Hollywood soundstage vibe and a sound far beyond any other commercial percussion library. Superior reverb impulses are included, recorded by Prof. Keith O. Johnson and Nick Phoenix.
