Sonic Faction Dips Into Kontakt Ecosystem With Whoosh Machine

Sonic Faction, a longtime maker of creative devices for Ableton, has expanded to the Native Instruments Kontakt platform with their new plug-in, Whoosh Machine.

Sonic Faction describe Whoosh Machine as an “enigmatic” FX creation tool which takes advantage of the Kontakt script programming language, ideally suited to creating all types of electronic, cinematic and experimental music.

Sonic Faction ‘Clone’ Micro Tutorial

Sonic Faction has published the first in a new “micro tutorial” series, which will feature a short video of each instrument in the company’s new Archetype Ableton Bundle.

The first installment in the series is a three-minute tutorial for Clone, their 80’s synth hybrid.

Sonic Faction’s Taylor Martyr says, “Max for Live allows us to create custom-designed interfaces and intuitive controls that haven’t been possible in Ableton until now. Among its other features, Clone has a unique section called the ‘Delta Triangulator’ which allows users to rhythmically modulate their sound with ease. It’s great for when you want to achieve driving, 80’s-sounding bass lines”

Sonic Faction Debuts Archetype Ableton Live Instrument Bundle

Today Sonic Faction has come out with a massive new offering for Live users – the Archetype Ableton Bundle, a collection of 8 custom-designed instruments for Ableton Live 9 Suite.

The Archetype Bundle’s eight instruments (Beatdown, Sickness, Evilfish, Hatchet, Clone, Pulsator, Whoosh Machine and Rogue-One) run the gamut of vintage and modern instruments, which are manipulated and controlled with Archetype’s creative controls and interfaces.

Sonic Faction Releases Pathogen Wavetable For Live

Sonic_Faction_PathogenSonic Faction today announced Pathogen, a free wavetable instrument for Ableton Live.

Based on the classic oscillator of the The Sickness (which itself was originally sampled from the Virus TI), Pathogen has, according to Sonic Faction, “the DNA of a truly infectious synth.”

The instrument has three multi-sampled oscillators: Sawtooth, Pulse and Spectral Wave. The wavetable features 64 timbres ranging from “haunting” glass, bells, and mallets, to synthetic textures, “blurps” and bleeps.
