It’s basically a branded version of djay. Here’s what they have to say about it:

Teaming up with EMI super star DJ and producer David Guetta, we have taken djay to the next level – packed with Guetta’s own beats, sounds and an all-new exclusive live sampler!

This special edition contains a wide range of David Guetta bonus material including twelve signature synth samples and drum beats, and five of Guetta’s electro tracks from the deluxe editions of his new album Nothing But the Beat: Lunar, Little Bad Girl Instrumental, Sunshine, Glasgow, and Paris.

In addition to the David Guetta features, the app retains all the functionality of djay including seamless iPod library integration, live recording, Automix mode, looping, pre-cueing, hardware controller support, and automatic beat & tempo detection.

The standard, David Guetta free, version of djay is currently available for $.99.

Deadmau5 On Today’s DJs – “I Don’t Get It!”

There are some artists that won’t open up and actually say anything in interviews.

And then there’s Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5.

In an interview with the Irish Daily Star,  Deadmau5 had this to say about today’s DJs:

It puts me to fucking sleep, to be quite honest; I don’t really see the technical merit in playing two songs at the same speed together and it bores me to fucking tears.

And, hopefully, with all due respect to the DJ type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur, I’d like them to dis-a-fucking-pear!

It’s so middle man. They’re like fucking lawyers!. You need them, but they’re fucking cunts!

God bless them, they’re my number one customer, right, so I’m not gonna go dis every fucking DJ.

But to say you become this massive, “up on a podium” performer by playing other peoples productions, at the same speed as someone else’s productions and fading between the two of them, I don’t get it…

Is that any way to talk about your number one customer?

Zimmerman may not be silver-tongued,  but you know where he’s coming from.

Why is Tiesto so happy?

Here’s one reason – his one-night paycheck, which was noted in a lawsuit over a concert that was cancelled by the City of Las Angeles.

According to an LA Weekly report:

Tiesto, by the way, was guaranteed $250,000 for his appearance, according to court papers.

The promoter’s profit was projected to be $436,250 with productions costs of $668,750. Tickets were slated to go on sale this week.

Nice work if you can get it……
