HV Synth Design has released Trumpet Collection, the first in a planned series of acoustic modeled instruments, created with SynthMaker and based on a unique modeling method for creating sustained instruments.

While the modeling is not slavishly strict, the results are nevertheless amazing. Demos are available at the site.

Trumpet Collection Features:

• Instruments: Bass Trumpet, Classical Trumpet, Jazz Trumpet, Piccolo Trumpet and Cornet.
• All the instruments have their full natural range.
• Like real Trumpets, you can ‘blow’ the models from very soft to very loud with an increment of brightness (the high frequencies become more and more prominent). This is done via modulation wheel or breath controller.
• Low CPU load
• Controls: Lip tention, Breath noise, Vibrato (amplitude and/or pitch), EQ, Mute, Fine tuning.

Trumpet Collection is available for Windows PC (VST/Standalone) for US $179.

OutSim has updated SynthMaker, a Windows audio programming tool for creating virtual synths and effects:

There are a huge number of fixes and enhancements in the new 1.1 release of the software. We have a new de-zipper component, new trigger based FFT and iFFT components and components for acquiring system information such as MAC addresses and Hard Disk serial numbers.

Most of the modules have been updated and there’s a new Additive Oscillator module that uses the new iFFT.

Image Line Software has released FL Studio 8, the latest version of their digital audio workstation. FL Studio 8 offers an improved interface, sound engine, revised mixer, the addition of pattern clips to the playlist, new multilink MIDI learn system, a suite of new plug-ins and updates to many others.

Outsim has announced the release of SynthMaker Personal Edition, a new entry level version of their audio programming software.

The Personal Edition is a low-cost option for home users and students who want to use the software for learning purposes or to create sounds, instruments or effects for use in their own music.

The features of the Personal Edition are exactly the same as the Standard Edition. Distribution of plugins is permitted but the plug-ins must be free and carry the Made With SynthMaker logo.

Companies, organisations or anyone wanting to use the software for a commercial purpose will not be eligible for the Personal Edition.

SynthMaker Personal Edition is available today at a retail price of £65.
