tech house

Articles about tech house:

I got a tip from Ben Tremblay on Twitter that I thought was worth sharing:

“Now and again I feel like my ears are plugged. I go to NoahPred.com to re-calibrate. ;-)

I checked the site out and it’s got a motherload of free music.

Noah Pred is a DJ devoted to “the authentic and soulful strains of techno in all its permutations.”

Since his first records came out in the late nineties, his productions have appeared on charts from Carl Cox, Cari Lekebusch and Laurent Garnier.  Pred recently relocated to Toronto, where he’s accepted a DJ residency with the Fukhouse crew and he runs two record labels from his studio headquarters – Thoughtless Music and Sentient Sound.

Here’s an example of Pred’s work, an electro/tech house set, called Moog:

There are an than a dozen more free mixes available for download at Pred’s site.

Beatmatch is offering five collections of high quality loops for free download for non-commercial use:

Beatmatch.info is a new project aiming to provide fresh and original electro loops and dj tools for producers looking for fresh and cool sounds. Beatmatch.info soundlibraries and loop packs are great tools for modern music producers who want to explore new grounds or simply add a new flavor to their unique music style.

We are working hard on every single release to make sure that our stuff is really fresh and top notch. Beatmatch.info loops and samples are available in high quality WAV and Apple’s AIFF format ready to use in your favorite software (Ableton Live, Sony ACID, Fruity Loops etc.) Check our new releases in downloads section!

The collections include tech house, minimal, funk and electro loops. There’s some great sounding stuff to work with!

Note: The libraries are .rar compressed aif files.

      something to think about
