2015 NAMM Show Preview: Akai Professional today introduced a new line of control keyboards, the Advance Keyboard series, that’s designed to provide deep integration with virtual instruments.
Available in 25-, 49-, and 61-key sizes, the Advance 25, Advance 49, and Advance 61 let you load, play and control your virtual instrument plugins directly from their keyboard.
According to the company, the Advance Keyboard series has been designed “to fuse the power of software instruments with the live playability of a keyboard workstation,” transforming the use of computer-based plugins into an entirely hands-on playing experience.
Roland has released a free Integra-7 Editor for Mac.
The Roland Integra-7 is the company’s flagship sound module, offering 6,000+ presets, 16 parts and Roland’s latest synthesis technologies.
The new Editor provides visual control of the INTEGRA-7 parameters. A VST instrument (VSTi) version and an Audio Units (AU) version are both available, integrating the INTEGRA-7 into your Mac-based DAW for rapid workflow and instant recall.
Sonic Charge has introduced Permut8, a new VST / AudioUnit that lets you modulate, manipulate and mangle your audio in countless ways.
Here’s what Sonic Charge has to say about Permut8:
Permut8 is an effect plug-in that embraces the sounds of primitive signal processing hardware. At its core is a 12-bit digital delay with variable sample rate from 0 to 352 khz. The delay is controlled by a programmable processor that allows you to change and modulate the delay time with various “operators”. The input and output stages offers virtual analog components for saturation, limiting and filtering. The sound of Permut8 is raw and complex but noisy and warm at the same time.
Permut8 is available now, for Mac & Windows, for $66. A trial version is also available.
