Street Beatz contains 1 Gb of brand new professional NYC hiphop at a bargain price. Full of Earth Shaking Beats, Dope Grooves, Cool Vibes and Full Phat Construction Kits from the streets of NYC.

LA Drums for Songwriters – Top LA session player, engineer and programmer Jeremy Janeczko who has toured with many top stars including Sheryl Crow, Cypress Hill, The Eagles, Alanis Morissette and Michael Jackson brings you a collection of acoustic drumloops for use in all genres of music.

Grime Scene contains 500Mb of loops, growling basses, raw beats, and big clash sounds and a generous portion of grimey strings, percussion and atmospheres, incorporating Ragga, Grime, Reggae, Dubstep and many other influences.

Old Skool House – a collection of old skool house samples – folders packed full of construction kits, beats, basses, pianos, organs, percussion loops, drum kits, stabs, riffs and more.

Elektroytic is the second sample library by Ian Boddy in the Zero-G SoundSense series. Best known for his love of all things analogue and his weird and wonderful atmospheres, he has taken this sense of exploration and discovery into the realms of beats & loops. But these aren’t “normal” rhythms rather they are beats that have been twisted and mangled using a huge arsenal of cutting edge digital techniques. The resultant loops and one-shots provide a unique library of sonic inspiration for beat driven music, especially dance music.

Each of these SoundSense Series products is available for a recommended retail price of $59.95 / 49 EUR / £29.95 GBP.

Zero-G has introduced a nicely-named new virtual instrument, Phaedra. It’s powered by Native Instruments Kontakt Player2 and features over 4 gigabytes of sounds, 20,000 samples and 800 patches.

Description:

Unhappy with the lack of raw sonic power in virtual emulations of VSTi analog synths, producer Sam Spacey set out on a three year journey to make the ultimate synth and ended up creating a monster in Phaedra..

Constructed with the same attention to detail as a huge orchestral sample library, each of the 20,000 samples has been edited and looped by hand, with loops being very long so as to extract that lovely analog randomness magic. Nearly every single preset has each separate note sampled so as to eliminate aliasing within the instrument’s range. With Kontakt 2’s engine being pushed totally to the limits we have produced a library that is a full synthesizer in its own right. PHAEDRA is suitable for all types of music and would enhance any producer’s sonic armoury.

Categories include:

01 Synth 1

02 Synth 2

03 Bass

04 Leads

05 Pads

06 Sequences

07 FX

08 DnB

09 Synth Builder 10 Multis

Minimum System Requirements: Windows XP/Vista, Pentium III 1 GHz/ Athlon 1.4 GHz, 512 MB RAM Mac OS 10.4 or higher, G4 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM, DVD-ROM drive.

Zero-G has introduced Degrees of Abstract – 2Gb of sounds that “take you on a panoramic journey into a fantastic world of sound never taken before,” according to the company.

Description:

Some elements you discover on the way may sound familiar; this is because we have taken inspiration from many genres and styles and tried to give them an experimental twist. If you like the music released by labels such as Warp Recordings, Planet Mu and Ninja Tune etc, we think you are going to love this sample library.

We have aimed to keep the content experimental and cutting-edge and perhaps a little weird, but at the same time fully usable and adaptive to all styles of music. If you are a producer for auditory or visual media you will find plenty of material ideal for radio, television and film scores.

We think you will find the content very varied indeed – manic beats, chilled out pads, disturbing SFX, serene vocals, futuristic synths, gentle guitars and a whole lot more!

This library is your first-class ticket to great sounds – which doesn’t by any means promise a comfortable, safe or banal journey; but what you can expect is an exhilarating and erratic tour of the world of abstract.

Zero-G’s Analogue Sequencer Loops (ASL) is a sound library by Ian Boddy, a synthesist that carries the torch for classic 70’s Berlin-school style electronic music.

The library is presented in Native Instruments Intakt format, which means that it’s a pain to register, but compatible with just about anything (it supports VST 2.0, DXi, ASIO, AU, RTAS, Mac & PC). It combines over 1,000 loops with the power of Intakt, letting you take Boddy’s loops and mangle them with downsampling, filtering, distortion, delay effects and more.

The library is described as “100% pure analogue.” It’s hard to tell what that means anymore, when you’ve got digital samples of analog synths running through digitally-modelled analog filters. Nevertheless, with Analogue Sequencer Loops, Boddy and Zero-G capture the essence of classic analog synthesis, with an emphasis on 70’s Berlin-school sequencer sounds.

About the Audio Library

According to Zero-G, Analogue Sequencer Loops is intended to complement Boddy’s Zero-G Morphology virtual instrument, which features Boddy doing his thing with atmospheric soundscapes and effects. We didn’t have a chance to work with Morphology, but A.S.L. is an interesting and flexible collection by itself.

Boddy uses classic analogue synths and hardware analogue sequencers, and they are captured exquisitely in 24-bit sound. The audio loops are broken down into seven categories: Analogue Drums, Bass Sequences, Electronic Percussion, FX Loops, Hi-Hat & Noise Loops, Melodic Sequences & Sine & Pure Sequences. Within each category, loops are organized by BMP, ranging from 90-150.

ASL doesn’t immediately wow you, like some sound libraries. Because of the limited capabilities of old-school sequencers, the loops are all fairly simple. But Boddy does a great job of providing starting points for creating music with that classic analog sound.

Take one of Boddy’s bass sequences and mangle it a bit, like modulating the cutoff with a slow LFO, add a little distortion and delay, and you’ve quickly got something with a lot of life and interest to it.

Zero-G provides a great Berlin-school demo using ASL that gives you a taste of one way the library could be used.

All-in-all, it’s a very nice sample libary. It doesn’t offer the instant gratification of effect laden loops or construction kits, but it instead provides you with some great building blocks, packaged in a powerful virtual instrument that lets you easily take the raw material and manipulate it to your will.

Outer Limits is a new ZERO-G/XFONIC virtual instrument powered by Native Instruments Kompakt.

It features a four gigabyte core library of more than five hundred unique soundscapes. It is described as a “journey through dreams and nightmares, full of sounds beyond your imagination.”

Outer Limits is Ian Boddy’s follow-up to his Morphology Kompakt instrument. The sounds this instrument is capable range from shimmering pads, to mysterious drones, crystalline digital manipulations to dark distorted atmospheres, menacing mechanisms, evocative resonances, surreal sound effects, complex cascades, formant sheens, dark disturbing horror, analogue waves, amazing space textures, strange vocal synthesis and of course, sounds from the Outer Limits of space and time. Eight sounds can be layered to create incredibly complex soundscapes.

Categories include Ambient Loops, Analogue Waves, Chamber of Horrors, Click & Glitch, Deep Space, Dense Soundscapes, Digital Drones, Digital Manipulations, Distorted Views, Heavy Drones, Machine Dreams, Minimalism, One Shot Synth FX, Outer Limits, Surreal to Real, Transcendental, Twisted Pads, Vintage Synth Atmos, Vocal Transformations and White Noise Atmospheres.

The whole library is presented within NI’s Kompakt Instrument sampler interface, which makes no compromises in the playing and performing of sample-based instruments. Powerful multi-mode filters, envelopes, and LFOs give this library enormous flexibility and a wealth of creative possibilities. The integrated high-quality reverb, chorus, and delay effects can give each sample life and depth.

Ian Boddy is one of the UK’s most celebrated synthesists, and a veteran of the European electronic music scene since the late 1970s. Ian’s exclusive arsenal of vintage and modern synths and software plug-ins have been extensively plundered together with cutting edge sonic manipulations and the audio mangling of “real” environmental sounds to create the unique and inspiring new library that you will find within this powerful virtual instrument.

Zero-G has introduced Vocal Forge, a new virtual instrument powered by Native Instruments Intakt.

Vocal Forge is based on a library featuring 800 patches and over 2,500 samples in 1.2GB of new material, sourced from pro vocal performances.

Male and female MCs, sweet R+B, gospel singers, dance and pop vocals all recorded with accompanying harmonies. There are even a few wild cards such as Choral, Gothic and even Opera styles. Plus there is a vocal Toolbox loaded with single vocal lines, scratches, effected vocals, grunts & breaths, human beatbox & percussion grooves and fake TV and radio clips.

The whole library is presented within NI’s Intakt interface which will soon have you customizing, shaping and manipulating the vocal lines to suit your own requirements. The flexibility of the interface allows you to automatically sync any of these vocal lines to your song’s tempo, and you can apply a vast amount of sound-shaping to each vocal as well.

Intakt’s Time Machine Mode allows the user to change the tempo of the vocal lines without any audible degradation so you can sync any of these performances to your song. You may also change the pitch of the samples independently of tempo. Using Intakt’s ‘Legato Mode’ you can also sync vocal harmonies together or bring in vocal harmony lines whenever you like in a mix to create your own melodies from the original samples making this the ultimate tool for DIY vocals

Nostalgia is a new ZERO-G virtual instrument powered by Native Instruments, featuring over 1.3 gigabytes of sounds and more than 1,300 patches from four decades of electronic instruments.

Programming wizard and all-round synth enthusiast Steve Howell has used his 30+ years of experience and knowledge of these various instruments to create arguably the best and most accurate representations of some of the world’s greatest synths, keyboards and beat boxes that he has either owned or used in a professional capacity as either a sound designer, sound engineer, player or composer in one way or another. Steve has also used his 16+ years of developing professional sample sound libraries to provide highly optimised and memory-efficient, seamlessly looped samples of a heritage of instruments that have paved the way for where we are today – over 40 years of innovation and (often naive) pioneering spirit encapsulated in one definitive collection of abject ‘NOSTALGIA’!

Whether it’s old-skool lo-fi beatboxes, huge Gothic Tron sounds, smooth Prophet pads and strings, beefy Moog basses or leads, classic electric pianos, swirly string synths, cheezy toys, classic samplers, brittle digital synths, evolving S+S textures … you name it – with over 5,000 samples and more than 1,300 patches, it’s probably there in this huge Kompakt collection that has effectively been 40 years in the making.

The whole library is presented within NI’s stunning state-of-the-art KOMPAKT INSTRUMENT sampler interface, which makes no compromises in the playing and performing of sample-based instruments. Powerful multi-mode filters, envelopes, and LFOs give this library enormous flexibility and a wealth of creative possibilities. The integrated high-quality reverb, chorus, and delay effects can give each sample life and depth.

PROGRAMMING NOTES:

Sound Quality

All the sounds were recorded and processed at 16 Bit resolution and 44.1KHz sample rate.

Organisation

The Instruments list (which can be viewed by clicking on “Instruments List PDF” at above left) groups the sounds into categories. The categories are as follows:

01 US Classics

02 Euro Classics

03 Japanese Classics

04 Playback Keyboards

05 Organs

06 Electro-Mechanicals

07 Digital ROMpler synths

08 Vintage Samplers

09 Cheap n Cheezy

10 Obscure Synths

11 Drum Synths

12 Classic Beatboxes

13 Obscure Beatboxes

14 Sci-Fi

15 Atmosferics

16 String Synths

17 Basses

Memory Size

All programming has been carried out to minimise the size of the patches thus reducing CPU and Memory Usage. However, the software interface will allow you to activate a Direct from Disk (DFD) functionality if you prefer, thereby enabling the streaming of the samples direct from your hard disk drive.

Modulation Wheel Assignments

Every single instrument has the Modulation Wheel assigned to a function. This gives a lot of dynamic control over the character of the sound. Please try out the modulation wheel when playing each patch. The Mod Wheel may be assigned to one of several different controllers including Tune LFO, Filter Cutoff, Pan and Volume depending on the patch in question.

Polyphony

All instruments are programmed at the default polyphony of 32 notes except for a selection of patches from synths that were originally monophonic and some bass sounds which have thus been programmed as monophonic. If you wish to increase the polyphony please do so.

Multis

Up to 8 instruments can be combined in a Multi giving a vast array of possible combinations of the supplied single instruments. For example try combining a couple of bass instruments for some really fat and thunderous sounds. Or how about combining a Sawtooth and Square wave pad and then using the modwheel to crossfade between them. This latter effect is easy to set up by over-riding the pre-programmed Mod Wheel assignments. Simply set the Mod Wheel to control one instrument with positive volume control and the other with negative volume control.

CPU Load

The exact CPU load of any given instrument depends on a myriad of factors – the power of your computer, notes played, complexity of the instrument etc. However if you find the CPU load is too high for any particular instrument the quickest way of reducing this is to see if the instrument uses any of Kompakt’s own built in FX. If so these can be turned off to maximise CPU efficiency.

List of INSTRUMENTS:

For the complete table of contents, listing all of the instrument patches included in the NOSTALGIA LIBRARY, click on “NOSTALGIA Patch List (PDF)” at above left, to view the PDF file (this file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

Zero-G and Xfonic Ltd have announce the release of A.S.L. – ANALOGUE SEQUENCER LOOPS, a 100% pure analogue virtual instrument, representing classic analogue synths and hardware analogue sequencers superbly captured at 24bit sampling resolution.

The mastermind behind the unique and inspiring new library to be found within A.S.L. is Ian Boddy, one of Europe’s leading synthesists and veteran sample library Producer for Zero-G, who has plundered his extensive arsenal of vintage and modern analogue synths and analogue sequencers. With 1000 loops and over 1.5Gb of brand new material featured on A.S.L. the versatility and experimentation potential of the sounds provided will have enthusiasts keeping this product readily available in the studio for many years to come and is additionally designed to complement Ian Boddy’s and Zero-G’s highly acclaimed ‘Morphology’ virtual instrument.

For complete flexibility in tempo and instrument selection, a version of Native Instrument’s INTAKT sampler, for both Mac and PC completes A.S.L., providing an easy to use, on-screen interface for additional sound shaping abilities without disturbing your creative flow. (The sound library can also be loaded into other Native Instruments samplers including Kontakt for even greater flexibility).

A.S.L. features the following sound categories:

Analogue Drums

Bass Sequences

Electronic Percussion

FX Loops

Hi-Hat & Noise Loops

Melodic Sequences

Sine & Pure Sequences

These are further subdivided into 7 tempo groups ranging from 90 – 150 BPM. With the Intakt interface’s ability to play back loops at varying tempos these are provided purely to conveniently divide the library into easily digestible chunks.

Not only can you sync, stretch, and pitch the loops, but also filter, effect and modulate them as well! A powerful sound-shaping filter, flexible envelopes, syncable LFOs and distortion, syncable delay and lo-fi effects can inject even more energy and individuality into the loops. Since the software interface is based on the KONTAKT audio engine, working with it is fast, easy, and sounds great!

Zero-G has announced two new Reason ReFill libraries; KONCEPT & FUNKTION and THE OPERATING TABLE.

KONCEPT & FUNKTION features over 1.1 Gb of Drum & Bass loops and samples produced in the UK by producers David & Nic Higham. The library provides loops and samples for turning out unique dance tracks.

Included in the product are 40 Construction Kits, plus a huge selection of driving Beats & Loops, Bass Loops, Liquid Funk Loops, Organ Loops, Pad Loops, Synth Loops, and Loop FX. Additionally, Drum Kit Sounds, Dark FX, Hits FX, Industrial FX, Noise FX, Space FX, Sweep FX, Pads, Pad Sweeps, Female Vocals, Spoken Vocals, and Vocal FX complete this creative and highly usable drum & Bass production kit.

Formats provided inside the ReFill are:

REX2

ReDrum Kits & Samples

NNXT

NN19

THE OPERATING TABLE is a groove library performed and produced by Emre Ramazanoglu, whose production credits include The Prodigy and William Orbit. Emre also masterminded the Award-winning Return To The Planet Of The Breaks sample library on the Zero-G label.

The sample-accurate construction kits and breakbeats found on The Operating Table derive their feel and sonic basis from live drumming techniques performed by four featured drummers, but were created via extremely creative processing techiques, while preserving the real feel of a performance. Many performances change and evolve, providing multiple loop variations. Real kits are the foundation of the sound of each break, although some incorporate additional live triggered analog drum machines or software triggered sounds.

Several top producers are recommending the groove library. Neil Maclellan, producer for Prodigy and Nine Inch Nails says “Buy this, it’ll rock the globe”. Flood notes that “I literally don’t leave home without these breaks.”

THE OPERATING TABLE Reason Refill – formats provided inside the ReFill are:

REX2

Each of these new Reason ReFill products is formatted as a single Reason ReFill, and is therefore usable only with Propellerheads Reason software. The REX files etc. are NOT also provided separately outside of the Refills. However, information on an alternative plug-in version for each of these two libraries, powered by a customized version of the Native Instrument’s INTAKT engine can be found on the Zero-G website.

The two ReFills have a recommended retail price of £79.95 ($139.95 / 119 Euro) each.
