UK-based studio Dorothy has introduced a new art print that reveals what goes on inside a Minimoog synthesizer.

The creators say that the print ‘celebrates the cult of the Minimoog and the many musicians influenced by it.’

Here’s what they have to say about it:

Dorothy’s cutaway print imagines a miniature world of musicians hidden inside the Minimoog. The illustration features 28 cameo’s from some of the world’s greatest electronic music pioneers all beavering away doing their own ’thing’.

Follow the visual clues and see if you can identify the likes of Sun Ra, Keith Emerson, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, David Bowie, Gary Numan (and his Tubeway Army), Giorgio Moroder, New Order, Daft Punk, The Prodigy, Mr Bob Moog himself…and more.

The H50 x W70cm 3-color litho print is available now for £30 (plus P&P).

  1. It seems pretty clear it should be a Mini Cooper (60’s variant) and not an air-cooled VW Beetle in this picture.

  2. Another tell-tale sign is that the scale is wrong on this poster. People are much bigger than that in relation to a real Minimoog!

  3. Despite the other comments, this poster shows the correct scale. The actual physical synth Moog made is merely a poor down-scale replica of the real thing. It’s deeply frustrating; every time I look at my Minimoog, I think, “What is this? A Minimoog for ANTS? It needs to be at least… THREE TIMES this size!”
