At this year’s NAMM Show, there was a wealth of modular synthesizer gear on display, more than we’ve ever seen at previous NAMM Shows. It’s a reflection of the increasing interest in modular synthesis and the growing number of modular synth manufacturers.

There were multiple Eurorack systems on display, and even some large format gear:

There were also complete modular systems from Reon and other manufacturers:reon-driftbox-modular-synthesizer doepfer-analog-modular-synthesizer modular-synthesizers

In addition to audio synthesis modules, LZX Industries‘ video synthesis Eurorack modules were on display:video-synthesizer

And the funktacular Don Lewis was giving talks and musica performances on his Live Electronic Orchestra (LEO):

If that weren’t enough modular goodness, Korg introduced the MS-20 Mini – a scaled down re-release of its classic semi-modular synth:

And Buchla Electronic Musical Instruments announced a re-release of Buchla’s Electric Music Box:

Analog and modular gear is back in a big way, with options from the smallest companies to the largest.
