Now in its 17th year, the Expo will present a schedule of informative seminars, an exhibit hall of the latest DJ products, a slate of evening parties & events and, according to organizers, the biggest giveaway in the DJ industry. A special segment of the 2006 DJ Expo, La Revolucion, will focus on the emerging Reggaeton genre and the Latin Hip Hop movement. It will feature Reggaeton and Latin Hip Hop panels, artists, labels and showcase at Club Tru on Wednesday, August 23rd. Reps from Wu-Tang Latino, BMI Music & Ill Tongue are all scheduled to appear. This year, the International DJ Expo will have over 30 educational seminars and hands-on workshops presented by some of the industry's most knowledgeable & successful DJs. From booking high-end mobiles to getting influential club gigs, from studio techniques to breaking into radio, the DJ Expo has something for you. Keynote speaker Bryan Dodge will address Expo attendees on Tuesday, Aug. 22 @ 2:30 p.m.. Dodge is one of America's busiest speakers on the subject of personal & professional development. Parties and Events On Monday evening, August 21st, French turntable quartet and three-time DMC World Team Champions C2C will play the Ortofon Party at the House of Blues - Club Worship. On Tuesday evening, August 22nd, the annual Promo Only/Pioneer bash will ramp the energy level to a new high by presenting legendary California breakbeat duo Uberzone at Casbah. Also, a special afterhours party featuring ultra-hot DJ Tommie Sunshine with DJ Three and Peter Anthony will be held at the Tun Tavern on Tuesday, August 22nd. M-Audio & DJ Times present Retro/Electro featuring Junior Sanchez at House of Blues / Club Worship on Wednesday, August 23rd. And for mobile DJs, the DJ Expo will present its always-popular DJ of the Year competition on Wednesday, August 23rd. Professionally presented by Elite Entertainment's Mike Walter, the competition will bestow a range of awards to mobile jocks who stand out from the competition and push the industry forward.
