If you get a copy of Computer Music magazine, it comes with two free drum machines vsts. One is sample-based and the other is a virtual analog drum synth. They are both great basic drum synths.
DR-008 is a great commercial one. _________________ When I'm not in the forum, I'm listening to Electronic music, especially techno music. |

hey hey......
i've used alot of vst drum machines but i have to say that fxpansion guru, which i recently bought is by far the best i ever clicked a mouse over. it has a load of effects, can run (i think eight) different beats with different effects at one time. cuts loops up nicely into hits that you can sequence as you like and has really easy to control parameters (like changing the pitch or volume of all kicks or hats or WHATEVER U LIKE!!
native instruments battery is very similar, but imho not so easy to use.
the computer music freebies are a really good place to start...i'll have a lookout for any shareware or free vst modules, i think that a few exist. |

Again - the freebies that come with Computer Music are a great place to start. Borders and Barnes and Noble usually carry it.
Make sure you check out KVR, too:

I know this is an old topic but if someone stumbles in here...
iDrum or Battery 3 are the best i think. _________________ zuzz | drum samples | free loops |
