I am interested to know your opinions on pre manufactured vocal booths (i.e. http://www.vocalbooth.com). I am an employee of VocalBooth.com and we would like to know your experiences with ours or similar booths. In addition how can we better these booths to fulfill your needs? Are there any accessories we should add to our booths? What is a deciding factor in purchasing one of our booths? Any input would be great. If you have any questions about our booths or sound isolation in general, fire away! |

Two comments:
First - I tried using your site with Firefox 2.006, and the navigation doesn't show up. I couldn't go anywhere from the home page.
Second - I think even your entry-level soundbooths are prohibitive for a lot of people, who don't have the cash or the space for a nice soundbooth. You might consider making a relatively inexpensive L-shaped soundbooth that could be placed in the corner of a room. When not in use, it could be turned 180, so that the l-shape was against the corner of the room, not taking up any space. _________________ When I'm not in the forum, I'm listening to Electronic music, especially techno music. |

Thanks for the note about Firefox. I will look into it. We are in the process of building a more economic booth such as you have described. We are hoping to have it well under the $2000 range and better than what is out there at the moment. Thanks again for your comments!

I bought a 4x4 vocalbooth.com room from a friend of mine a few years back. Unfortunately I disliked it just as much as she did. The interior was too dead to get good VO and Vocal recording. I glued some CVT tiles to the wall foam (no small task) to get good acoustics. When I moved down to the ground floor of my building, the street noise came right through.
I sold it on eBay and bought a 4x6 from Whisperroom.com. The difference was black and white. Hopefully you make a better product now than you did in the early 2000's. |

| Sounds like you may have purchased our economy model which is not intended for your described application. You may have wanted to do some research before making this purchase. At VocalBooth.com we pride ourselves with a superior product and customer service to which booth will meet the needs of your application. We offer four levels of booths which I'm sure multiple booths would have met and exceeded your expectations. Your trying to compare apples and oranges as Whisper Room does not offer an economy model for those with a lesser budget. If you have any questions concerning sound reduction and your needs feel free to contact me. |

Do you have any products in the portable mic soundscreen category?
I checked out the Mic Thing recently and am considering getting one of those for recording my wife's podcast. Any thoughts or suggestions on this? _________________ When I'm not in the forum, I'm listening to Electronic music, especially techno music. |

The Vocalbooth.com room I had was a gold series. When Gloria (my friend) priced it out, it was only $150 cheaper than a WhisperRoom. That is why she went with it. We both used it for recording vocals. Silly me, I assumed a Vocalbooth.com vocal room was used for recording vocals.
I don't want to harp on your company because it may have just been an anomaly and didn't work for us. It could have been that we were in a weird space and the noise cut right through. Live and learn. I maybe could have made it work but did not want to spend the time or money. I got most of my money back from the guy I sold it to.
I would suggest not glueing the foam to the walls of your booth, because you have to use some reflector panels to get that live feel. |

I'm planning of purchasing an Iso booth for my home recording studio. I've been looking at Whisper Room, but I'm interested in seeing what else is out there.
How does Vocalbooth.com's booth compare? What other options are there.
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Eddie |

| There are a few good sites that you can find vocal booths. One that I like is www.acousticalsolutions.com They have a lot of information, and I've emailed them for for general info before and they're pretty good to work with. I'd recommend them if you're looking for options. |

I have purchased 4 sound booths over a 6 year period.
I bought one from Vocalbooth a year and a half ago, it was suppose to be one of their best for sound isolation and it was so poorly constructed and the sound leakage was so bad, I finally just gave it away. I thought I was going to get something better than the Whisperroom, but it wasn't, and the sound quality of the Whisperroom wasn't good either....both are really bad with sound reduction issues, and cheaply made.
I talked to a friend of mine who runs a franchise of music schools and he told me I needed a GK Acoustics booth. He swears by them. That is all they will buy. So I went and checked it out and sure enough it was fantastic.
I bought my first GK booth 6 months ago. Now that I received the funding for a new project I am working on, I decided I needed another one. So I just finished placing an order for a second GK Booth last week. Finally, I have found the solution for my recording needs! I am very pleased.
I think this is their website: www.gkacoustics.com
You might want to look at this company as I was highly disappointed in the others, both in quality and performance.
I hope this helps! _________________ Taylor, J.

I bought a vocal booth and stand from this site called editorskeys.com, have been using it constantly since and its actually amazing, I get perfect audio recordings everytime! Saves me money and time going back and forth to studios.
Also just bought a pop filter from them too, pretty cheap and work really well with the booth.
Definitely give them a go. |

Hi,
I found this coupon on Sound on Sounds website and i thought i'd share it as its only valid for 6 more days, means your can get 50% off!!!
You can get a Vocal Booth 'Home' Edition for £67.50 (Usually £134)
There is 30% off on the site due do some sort of summer sale, then this coupon gives you an extra 25% on top, seems a bit silly to me, so might be a fault, but once you've brought there's not really much they can do, cause of trading standards!!
Coupon Code: HOMEBOOTHDIS124
