heya, great to see a forum for the gear -

Thought I'd drop this on you all - a bit of a session I had with a nasty little Sears tube amp and the TM-1 fed by a Machinedrum and a TR-505, plus a shit ton of other crap thrown at it. Expect more TM abuse on future tracks, it's the only thing I can use to keep the trance hippies downstairs in check

Track - The Wretch - Hope
Link - http://thewretch.com/audio/TheWretch_Hope.mp3

enjoy, and post your meta'd tracks here too! curious to see what others are getting into with the gear. I'll most likely be taking the TM-1 out with me when I do this material live as well Razz

Very messed up! I like how it explodes about halfway through, right after the "living stereo line".

Wow. Sounds f***ing awesome. reminds me of stuff some of my friends make (industrial, noise/breakcore, broken/splintered beats, etc). Im loving it. post up some more shit! Planning on getting a TM-1 myself sometime. Hopefully soon Twisted Evil

That's really nice. You used the TM-1 in its
"native mode". Most people who get one end up
using it very sparingly, as if it were some kind of
flaming hot pepper sauce....

It can be tough to find room for the TM-1, but sometimes you just have to let it make it's own room.

funny anecdote from the shop I got it from (two lines music in NYC) - said U2 picked up all the stock pieces of metasonix gear they had (including the TX-1). Got a call later from someone in their camp asking "is it supposed to hum?"

nothing better than the warm hum of the TM-1 through my monitors.

glad everyone is enjoying the track - pepper sauce is best enjoyed to the point of sweating and massive heart palpatations Shocked Razz

Yeah, that guy (he's the Edge's guitar tech) emailed me that it hummed.

I told him to RUN A SIGNAL THRU IT. "Oh! OK..."

(I get a lot of that, esp. with Agonizer buyers. Warning them REPEATEDLY that IT SUCKS doesn't seem to have the desired effect...some of these guitar players expect every effect box to act like a Big Muff....the TX-1 is the ANTI-Big Muff! Hope we're fully clear on this...)

just an update - I've updated the Wretch website -

http://www.thewretch.com

to give some audio/visual samples for the upcoming album (as well as a nifty link to metasonix)

there are several more tracks up on the multimedia page, for her pleasure Wink

and big thanks for the linkage on the metasonix page! hopefully those sherman+tm-1 samples help showcase the gear well Very Happy

thanks, Mike--i think your tracks help a lot.

Here we go into the summer sales doldrums......things won't pick up again till November. Same every year. Fine, it will hopefully leave me with some time to finish more Agonizers.

Will this be a limited run also? Would there be any reason to have both? (Besides supporting you, of course)

What would you describe as the difference in added suckiness?

>Will this be a limited run also?

Probably a larger run. Haven't decided yet.

>Would there be any reason to have both?

I haven't finished the mods yet. But the basic circuit
will change very little. It will still do all the basic Agonizer
suckery, with maybe 1 or 2 small additions.

Things I'd like to see in the upcoming version of the Agonizer:

Knobs for:

"Bleed"
"Crumble"
"Gag"
"Circumcise"
and
"Melanoma Roulette"

thought I'd post a new track -

http://thewretch.com/audio/TheWretch_Harnessed.mp3

this is a little more sparse on the TM-1, it was used on some guitar tracks, they show up about halfway through. Same setup for reamping the track through the old sears and roebuck amp, and I think I went a little heavy handed on the stereo manipulation Razz

enjoy!

Mike, you are what the nerds in Autechre can only
dream of being. Keep it up.
